Three And Counting.....

I am not committed to this.

I will try various approaches and objects until the pain stops.

I didn't want to just show ugly, down and out women, as that is more depressing than losing.

LBJ's analysis of the Ju-Ju laws gave me the opening I needed.

And here is how it works;

1.  Each fan has to identify some smarmy drink, with a long name, like the ones they served at Trader Vicks in NYC ( Singapore Sling, Dancing Mariner, etc ).

2.  You have to drink one for each loss in the losing streak.

3.  For those who can't count;  that means three drinks today.

4.  In one sitting.  With, or without, food ( your choice).

5.  If we lose today, your target for tomorrow is four.

6.  You can read the headline and know the number for the day.

7.  Get it?

I am drinking " Scorpions " today.  Pray for me.

  2. 2 oz Dark Rum
    1/4 oz Pernod
    1/2 oz Lemon Juice
    1/4 oz Sugar
    1 oz Lime
    Soda Water
    1/4 oz Grenadine
    Directions

Add liquid ingredients to crushed ice in shaker. Cut limes in half and squeeze into shaker, dropping in the shells; add sugar. Shake well; pour the whole mess into a 12-oz chimney glass; fill rest of glass with charged water and decorate with fruit or freshly picked geranium leaf.

Best served in a Beer Mug. Repeat until Girardi is fired and/or Bird's ankle heals.

  3. I will go for the Godfather I mentioned before. I will start right away. Hopefully I don't need to come up with another drink tomorrow.

    3 parts single malt scotch
    2 parts amaretto (di saronno)
    4 4 icecubes
    Stir
    Drink.

  6. Mind Eraser recipe:
Pour vodka, kahlua, and tonic water into a rocks or old-fashioned glass. Serve with a straw. Pour gently in layers over ice: 1st/bottom layer is Vodka, 2nd/middle layer is Kahlua, 3rd/top layer is Tonic.

However, I will stick to Bombay Sapphire Martini followed (and preceded) by Stoli and sodas.

Since I am already breaking the rules, I will also exceed the allotted number of drinks.
    It's Friday, I already have.

  7. Sorry, I also broke the rules. This isn't exotic, it's a Sangria recipe, learned at a great bar/cafe in Pamplona, Spain (i.e., The Iruña):

    A large pitcher (e.g., 2 liters)
1.5ML bottle of red wine (Merlot or anything else less strong than a Cab)
    1 Orange, sliced
1 Slice from lemon (i.e., 1 slice, not a lot)
    2-3 Slices from a lime
1-2 handfuls of blueberries or blackberries or raspberries
1 Can (12 oz) of Ginger Ale
3-4 second pour of brandy (the more rotgut it is, the better). Count One-Mississippi, Two-Mississipi, Three-Mississipi...

If you steep your fruit overnight, you're done. If you are mixing and drinking it immediately, add 6-7 level tablespoons of sugar to taste.

Pour all of the above into the pitcher -- ginger ale goes in last, poured slowly to preserve the carbonation. Fill the pitcher to the top with ice. Fill large (20 oz + ) glasses with ice.

    Drink.

Marvel at "how sneaky that brandy is".

The first pitcher of the summer was mixed tonight. Bring on the freakin' A's.
