EXTRA! EXTRA! JUDGE TO SIT!

Both Newsday and Jack Curry have reported on Twitter that Joey Binders has decided to let Judge sit a few, and try to get on track.

WHAT THE FUCK TOOK HIM SO FREAKIN' LONG????????

  2. Just brilliant--the day after he goes one for three with a double. And you think that putting Ellsbury in center and Hicks in right will be an improvement? It handicaps the team on both offense and defense. Typical Yankee panic move. I can see doing this if he went oh-for-five the day before. Ill-timed and ill-considered.

  4. He's probably just trying to injure Hicks the way he did Fowler, by having him play out of position near a railing.

So, when Judge was driving me mad, I went down to Florida for a few days to sit on the dock with my cousin Buddy, and drink corn liquor while we fished for eels and threw marshmallows to the gators for the tourist crowd.

Cousin Buddy leads a somewhat primitive existence, but he pickles his eels according to the original recipe used by Lou Gehrig's mother. He's also got a good dish hooked up to his shack and watches major-league games from all over when he's not out on the dock with the marshmallows.

What I remember him saying before the corn liquor made me blind drunk and got Cousin Buddy too mellow to talk, was that it's clear Judge is taking many more first pitches than he did in the first half of the year.

Has anybody else noticed this? Can we get the information to the Yankees' crack coaching staff?

Also, Cousin Buddy suggested choking up with two strikes, something he says Anthony Rizzo on the Cubs does, and seems to work just fine for him. He hits the ball much sharper. Not sure this would work with Judge—they might just kill him on the outside corner—but how could it be any worse?

  5. I LIKE COUSIN BUDDY.....

SEEMS TO ME JUDGE JUST KEEPS FOULING OFF THE PITCHES HE WAS HITTING AND CRUSHING IN THE FIRST HALF...... THAT IS EVEN WHAT JUDGE HIMSELF HAS SAID THAT, "I'M JUST MISSING MY PITCHES."

    WHY WOULD THAT BE?

MY GUESS IS WHAT SOMEONE ON THIS BLOG HAS ALREADY POINTED OUT (I FORGOT WHO), THAT SAID THE MINOR LEAGUE SEASON IS SO MUCH SHORTER THAN THE MAJOR LEAGUE SEASON. JUDGE HAS NEVER HAD THIS MANY AT-BATS IN ONE SEASON BEFORE. HE IS PHYSICALLY FATIGUED ALTHOUGH HE MAY NOT EVEN FEEL THAT WAY.

IT ISN'T THAT HARD TO FIGURE OUT. EXCEPT FOR GIRARDI, THE MAN WHO LOVES TO REST HIS PLAYERS, (EXCEPT FOR THE ONES WHO ARE STRUGGLING).

  6. You can say that again, ALL-CAPS. I don't know whether to welcome or dread the roster expansion. Will he start replacing the whole team during games?

  7. In related news...RailRiders clinched their division last night. Third straight year, and 9th time in 12 years. Only 2 pennants and one AAA championship to show for it, but we all know the playoffs are a crapshoot. Very impressive. Brian Cashman has created a Braves-like dynasty in northeastern Pennsylvania. First ballot International League HOF-er, no doubt.

  8. So what happens to those dufuses in the judge's chambers section?

  9. They can go to Scranton for the playoffs, where they might as well send Judge now...
