Late to the party on this. But in case you missed it last week's Sports Illustrated painted the tragedy of Hideki Irabu - and it's worth your time.

 For whatever it's worth, I'll never make fun of the guy again. (Well... I shouldn't, anyway.)

    that's a sad story. did not remember that he was pitcher of the month -- twice. what a miserable existence.
