  2. A question: do front pages count as two back pages? Just wondering.

  3. Also, did you realize that tomorrow is Mickmas, the birth of Mickey Mantle, and hence a sacred day on the Yankees calendar? What a cosmic convergence it would be to win it on such a day!

  4. I think we need a new song, too.

How about this one, with apologies to Little Feat, and the amazing cover Linda Ronstadt did of it:

    Willin'

We been warped by the rain
    Driven by the snow
    We're drunk and dirty
    Don't ya know
    But we're still
    Willin'
    Out on the road
    Late last night
We saw that damned Keuchel in every headlight
    Keuchel
    Dallas Keuchel

And we've been through him and Erwin Sanatana
    McCullers and Kluber twice
Beaten every kind of pitcher that's ever been made
Beaten their bullpens, we just wouldn't fade
    And if you give us
    Judge, Gary, and Didi
And you show us a sign
    We'll be willin'
    To be movin'

And we've been kicked by the wind
    Robbed by the sleet
    Had our heads stove in
But we're still on our feet
    And we're willin'
    Oh, we're willin'

And we've beaten Peacock and Carson McCullers
Beat that Bauer jerk with his long toss
Beaten teams that won a hundred games down
Would've beaten the Red Sox if they'd stuck around
    And if you give us
    Sevvy, Chappy, and Hiro
And you show us a sign
    We'll be willin'
    To be movin'
    On to LA..."

  5. I just want to say that, and also ask:

What do we think the IBS Lady is thinking just now? Is she proud?

  6. With all humility, who or what is the IBS Lady?
