Thought for tonight

Life is meaningless.

  1. No Duque. Life is not meaningless. That you would post "Life is meaningless" means that your life and opinion is meaningful. If it were truly meaningless than you would not post. Ergo - I've always wanted to type that -- your life has meaning.

I'll tell you what doesn't have meaning - Anything Jack Buck says. There's some serious nonexistence there.

Also prognostication in sports. If you had to bet the existence of you and all your loved ones on the outcome of the Giants/Broncos game last night tell me you wouldn't have taken the Broncos and slept easy knowing you would live to see another day.

I also hear you can't predict baseball.

I think what's going on is you might have Baseball Seasonal Affective Disorder which normally kicks in at the end of the baseball season. So your mind was ready to be depressed on October 3rd but inexplicably the Yankees continue to play. This causes a warp in the space time continuum and messes with your BSAD.

Or life could have no meaning. I'm not a Dr. Not even of philosophy. So perhaps my life has no meaning. Yet, I'm hungry. I need to give this more thought.

  2. I love my John Sterling blog spot very much, but I am a little mad at you guys right now. Yes, part of what's great about this site is the utter realness and how you don't take it easy on the Yanks. However, I think the reviews of games 1 and 2 are too harsh. Why no mention of the demon child who gave us our long overdue Jeffrey Maier karma and pulled a clear double over the wall? Speaking of walls, how do we not discuss the assist from Minute Maid Park that turned Frazier's homer into a double? Overall, the Yankees, particularly Judge, seem to have been given a different strike zone than Houston throughout this series. At least one of the first two games seems to have been cruelly stolen from us. They don't look as bad as you guys are saying and this can be done. This is the first time I have felt seriously good about this team in such a long while. After game 4 in the ALDS, River Ave erupted in a way I haven't seen since the Series clincher in 09. The juju is strong with these ones.

  3. Another cliche. "Meaningless". You slobs will never learn. "Meaning" is a useless metric, and "meaningless" more so. And don't get me started on "life". No self-respecting mammal bothers itself with pointless concepts like "life". Fools, the lot of you.

    1. So your life would have no meaning if you were not here to criticize us. Sad.

  4. That anon is a shabby impostor--I would never use an orotund locution like "Fools, the lot of you." That's the poor pummeled jerk that I've repeatedly tormented into humiliation, grasping at a wisp of self-ratification by emulating me, his tormenter. Stockholm Syndrome. You could look it up.

  5. Actually, life is silliness, but that has little to do with baseball.

  6. Wait, is that a song I hear?

Swelling out of a hundred thousand tenements? From the projects and the luxury condos owned by corrupt foreign potentates (singing in Russian, but okay)?

    How does it go?

"When the odds are sayin' you'll never win
That's when the grin should start..."

    I'm grinning like a fool.
