"I have decided to stay with the Yankees for the next three seasons. It was a simple decision for me as I have truly enjoyed the past four years playing for this organization and for the wonderful fans of New York. I'm excited to continue to be a part of this team, and I'm committed to our goal of bringing a World Series Championship back to the Steinbrenner family, the Yankees organization, and the great fans of New York."
Masahiro Tanaka... Yankee for life.
ReplyDeletePlus, they're going to give me $67 million dollars.
As far as Most Honorable Hal goes, it's just 猫に小判.
MASA!
ReplyDeleteYES LBJ, BUT HE VERY POSSIBLY COULD HAVE HAD MORE.
HONORABLE?
I SAY, YES.
THIS IS THE EXACT ATTITUDE THIS TEAM NEEDS GOING FORWARD.
GREAT.
Nice piece of headline writing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, ALL-CAPS.
ReplyDeleteI feel just now like Gene Wilder in "Blazing Saddles" after he shoots all the bad guys' guns out of their hands then just sits there taking high-fives.
Yeah, who knew Tanaka would be so smart? He only made himself a national idol while still in high school, married a gorgeous pop music star, and made himself a king's ransom before he was 30. Good thing he took my advice!
Tanaka is now a true Yankee. ™
ReplyDeleteDomo arigato, Tanaka-San; Ichi-ban.
ReplyDeleteI'm down with it, fer'sure...now, if we could only convince him that every time he takes the mound, it's a playoff elimination game... LB (No J)
The Anti-Cano. A real Yankee. This may be the single greatest chunk of Juju, going forward, that launches the next wave of greatness.
ReplyDeleteMy next, inevitable dark thought: NOW he will finally get the operation and be down for 18 months...
ReplyDelete@13bit my thoughts exactly. Gloomy.
ReplyDeleteIt if helps us get Otani all for it.

ReplyDelete35 HRs in 180 innings pitched. That fact does not change, does it?
Joe, he saved us in the post season when it counted.
