I was really starting to enjoy watching the Tide Pod Challenge. What happened? I thought it was ready to take off!

  1. It suffered a bad p.r. incident when an enterprising millennial followed a pod with a Drano chaser. His friends had begged him to go with a swig of Purple Fusion Snuggle Liquid Fabric Softener, but no.

  2. Sonny Gray is the worst trade I can think of in the past 15 years. He's quickly surpassing Javy Vasquez.

  3. Look, i don't wasn't to be hypercritical, but Sonny Gray is not even mediocre.

I am still learning about the game but it seems to me that Cashman does not do very well when trading for so called ace caliber starting pitchers.

    Sonny Gray looks very ordinary.

I am probably a prospect hugger but in three years time the players we gave up will probably show how lopsided the trade was if he continues to pitch as poorly as he has so far.

  5. Is it really only the 5th inning? It feels like this ballgame has been 27 innings long....

  7. Onlyliving, ordinary is quite the compliment to Sonny. He's horrendous. Since they've traded for him last summer he's given them maybe 3 good starts. And Forget the 7 innings of 3 runs or less they use to measure a quality start. I'm talking about times when he looked like a guy worth trading for. There was that one against the Mariners, I'm pretty sure another one from last year, and maybe one this year. Everything else has been frustrating and insufficient or downright awful.

He reminds me of a less reliable Phil Hughes, which is something we all thought was impossible to be.

  9. Great job by Judge tonight. Two strikeouts with men on base in innings 7 and 9, the latter ended the game. Outside of game 4 of last year's ALCS has he ever gotten a hit after the 6th inning? Maybe. Were any of those clutch hits? God no.

  10. Sadly, Judge, though I love him, is not a clutch hitter. Never has been, never will be.

  11. Sunny-Bunny is a fiddler-diddler; he is afraid to throw the ball anywhere over the plate - - so he nibbles, he fiddles, and he diddles. He is one of the least interesting starters to watch in my recent memory. He always makes me wonder why the game is still going. Yuck. LB (No J)

  12. Sonny Gray is headed to Kevin Brown territory...OMFG.

Suggestion...maybe we should start live chats during the regular season...those were fun last year during the playoffs.
