The Master was so flustered there was no win warble. How often does THAT happen.
This is starting to be *really* fun.
I was so pissed about another Toonces head case implosion. But as soon as he was out, I thought they were going to win. It has been a loooonnnnnnggggg time since I've felt that way.
Betances has to go. I loved this guy for years, from the minors and past that, but Randy mind-fucked him or something happened. Whatever it was, he can't be trusted. HE. CANNOT. BE. TRUSTED.
In the second inning, Yonder Alonso Lies the Castle of My Father hit a seeing eye grounder juuuuust through the shift. The next guy golfed a Texas Leaguer off his shoes.
Toonces didn't panic, and tried his best at keeping the guys on base. One barely stole third anyway, and then there was another single.
This was not a meltdown, but some good hitters getting a little lucky—in Betances' second inning of work.
Whether we need the oxymoronic Jonathan Holder on the team is another question.
