Happy Fourth Of July Everyone!

"for we've got...baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and chevrolet.."

Some important icons live forever.

  1. Glad we won but, as I have been drearily intoning for a while now, you cannot live by the homer alone. Small ball is important, too, as Kevin Spacey has often remarked.

And Ford all the way, baby. Ford, followed by Toyota, followed by Jeep, followed by GM. Don't ask me for details. I'll bore the shit out of you with details. I'd much rather just run off ridiculous shit at the mouth all day, then duck.

  2. Break out the swan for Gleyber

  3. By the way, no offense to Winwarblist or any other GM men. My dad was a GM man and I grew up with Oldsmobiles. It's just, that, well...things change...

  4. I have owned half a dozen Ford pickups. This one is likely my last. 66K miles in ten years. Something breaks every month.

Then again, all car dealers suck.

  5. 13Bit,

Every time I have gone into a Toyota dealership, I have been asked "what are you going to be using it for?" This after I have already told them 4WD and I don't care about any other options. Well, duh, i'm going to be driving in the dirt.

  6. Don’t let some measley dealer deter you. Those tacos are bulletproof.

  7. Horrible for The Gleyber to get hurt, but...another reason why we can't do a trade for a terrible pitcher.

    Weirdly, this could save us.

  8. Dear Mr. Clark 66,

Please elucidate. I am missing the logic. Not the first time, I might add.

But how does Gleyber's injury impact Brian's decision to trade, or not trade, for a scum bag pitcher?

  9. He needs Drury now. And maybe, he realizes he needs a better bat in the lineup, too—better than Drury or Walker that is.

Also, in general, anything that impresses upon Mr. Cashman's mind the idea of depth, is a good thing.

  10. 13bit, no offense taken. I owned one Ford and that was enough for a lifetime. I don't need a pickup otherwise things might be different.

    Porsche, GM, Toyota/Lexus, Volvo ...

  11. Rufus, I live on a ranch 20 minutes from the nearest town. I drive a '99 Chevrolet Silverado 4-wheel drive pickup with 250,000 miles. Lots of rough driving, have to occasionally use the 4-wheel drive. Ford is good, of course, as is Toyota. But I think the old Chevy will last forever. Can't recommend it enough. I like to drive it up to the top of a hill and watch the sunset while I listen to John and Suzyn.
