Inquiring Minds Want to Know!

Now that Syndergaard has hand, foot, and mouth disease, is he going to have to be put down like Ol' Yeller?

"There's no hope for him now, Travis.  He's suffering."

"I know, Momma.  He was my dog.  I'll do it."

I can't help it.  These tragic scenes at Shea always make me cry.

  1. There is today a report that the Yankees are dangling Sonny Gray as trade bait with "small-market teams" .....where he'll be under (a lot) less pressure.

When I was a youth, I was taught that this kinda thing = Addition By Subtraction.

I don't know what a rational other-team GM would disgorge for Gray and his wonderful contract (a bunch of "team control" remains).

But were I Cashmoney, I would take it - whatever it is.

As a fan, it would be a relief to NOT have to root for Gray. Wouldn't it?

I have to believe NOT sending Gray, Cessa, and/or German out to the mound -- to have the team almost certainly give up 3-4-5 runs before the 3rd inning was done, on a routine basis -- would improve the way the players felt about competing.

    Am I wrong?
