A Personal Weakness Revealed

I want to go to Baltimore for any reason whatsoever.

The Comical introduction of the new AHOY product line leads the list.  Beers with Duque and Mustang lead the list.  Seeing a new thing leads the list.  Laughter and hunger lead the list.  Lust leads the list.  Even brunch with Bucky and his Birds lead the list.

But the difference maker is my favorite meal of all time:

If I hear that Duque and Mustang return without having been at the paper covered table, with pitchers of beers, and barrels of these ( see above ) there will be war.

Even proxy eating is better than unrestrained envy.

  1. Last couple days, I've seen the Yanks do quite a bit of "situational hitting." Singles, doubles, sac flies. Great to see, I like that kind of baseball. Throw in a homer now and then and it's all good.

  2. Go Yanks! They only need to win one more game (or the A's to loose one game) for home field. And here I thought they would be at least 3 behind for it. Lucky them!

Pity CC got tossed out and lost half a million, but honestly the way he pitches, he would have lost the game if left in for another two, even with a huge lead. I wonder if they'll let him pitch a couple in relief to get that half a million? And he's also 14 shy of 3000, so I'll be very surprised if we don't see him playing for the Yanks in 2019. He's 5 shy of 250 wins as well.

  3. You are talking Hall of Fame numbers, I think.

  4. Mike Mussina has 270 wins plus 2,813 SO's and he's frequently referred to as being "on the bubble". I don't know if 250/3,000 does it.

Also, Alphonso, if it's true that you haven't been to Baltimore before, do make a point of going to Camden Yards. It is a fantastic ballpark. It's my second favorite and I've seen games in all 30 MLB cities.

  6. Re Hall of Fame:

I wonder if his incredible loyalty to the teams he's on will help pick up a few border line votes. Just what he did for the Brewers without regard for his upcoming FA showed the kind of person he is and now this. That's a Hall of Fame move and is the stuff of Legends. Giving up half a mil to back you teammate up? HOF

  7. Mmmm...crabs!

And beer. Did I mention beer?

    Yanks play great—every other day.

CC, in my opinion, should not be in the Hall. Musician DEFINITELY SHOULD NOT BE IN THE HALL.

But hey—after about 10 years of pitcher who never go more than 120 innings, they will look better than ever.

I wonder, in the future, if anyone will be inducted except for statisticians. They should maybe christen a whole new Statisticians' Wing.

  9. One of the best days of my life was in 1977, where a high school classmate of mine who moved to Baltimore and I went out and got a dozen crabs, a can of Old Bay, a rubber hammer, a six-pack of some local beer whose name I can't remember, went down to the Inner Harbor (when it was tacky and sketchy as hell) and went to town. I'm drooling at the very thought of it.

I was in my car yesterday on a drive across the state of New York listening to the game on Sirius XM, and the Master's win warble was about the funniest I have every heard. It went something like this:

"YANKEES WIN! THUUUUUUUUU (ouch - I hit my arm! That hurts!) YANKEEEEEES WIN!"

Does anyone have the audio of that? It should be on the sidebar of this site.
