  2. I didn't know Jesús Montero cared that much about this signing. ;)

Watch this, he'll become a 18 game winner and a win few Cy Youngs just because we didn't get him. If we did, then he'd be the next Carl Pavano and we'd hate him for life. Just can't win.

  3. THIS IS A GOOD THING!

    $125 MILLION FOR A #3 STARTER?

LET TURN THIS INTO A POSITIVE AND NAIL DOWN HAPP OR KEUCHEL.

AS I HAVE SAID, I PREFER KEUCHEL.

THEN AFTER WE SIGN EITHER ONE, LETS MOVE ON TO BIGGER TREASURES.

WATCH COOP GET THE ONE GUY I'M NOT TOO KEEN ON....

    EOVALDI.

  5. No, ANON...the Nats paid him 140 million for 6 years. I'm sure the Yankees offer of 5 years was no more than 21, 22 million tops.Still, I can't blame the Yankees of not wanting to pay 6 years for a # 2 or 3 starter with a history of Tommy John.

Personally, I'd stay away from Keuchel as his stats have been dropping the last 2 years and he has a bad back. Not a good injury to have (see Don mattingly) especially for a pitcher.

I'd go with Happ on a 2yr deal at the most.

  6. Now it looks like he signed for $140 for 6 years. Insane money but I'm not disappointed as I wasn't that high on him anyway.

Honestly, I don't think we'll get any of the names being floated around pitching or hitting. We probably will get someone via trade who isn't all that exciting, just like Grey and end up exactly as we were in 2018. Fighting forever to stay in the wild card but nicely under the salary cap because of food stamps Hal. His father is spinning in his grave!

  7. Looks like no opt outs which is very surprising in this day and age. He probably knows that he isn't as good as what they are paying him.

If anyone is sad about this, look at what Yu Darvish done after his big contract. Yikes! But then again Yu was such an obvious bad contract (he was injured at the time) and I don't know why the Cubs went for him. Corbin actually seems worse as he only has that one great year under his belt and has a history of injuries.

It reminds me too much of when the Blu Jays got R.A. Dickey. They saw a killer year and then overpaid (traded away d'Arnaud and Syndergaard which I felt was robbery at the time) to get him.

I have a feeling Corbin will be the same mistake of overpay for 1 great year. So honestly I'm glad the Yanks didn't get him. He is probably worth 3 to 4 year, $17 mill a year in a fair market instead of a pitching starved one.
