    Right now, the president of the United States is being investigated for high crimes and misdemeanors, and we have all sorts of charges, counter-charges, talk-show rants from both sides, and endless, open debate.

    A pitcher is accused of slapping his girlfriend—apparently: we don't even know this—and he is simply disappeared. Unconnected, not suspended, not even formally accused of anything.

    Just...bye-bye.
