Judge went through a battery of tests before it was discovered he has that stress fracture. Severino also went through several major tests before the extent of his injury was finally realized.
After two MRI exams and a CT scan during the offseason didn’t uncover a torn ulnar collateral ligament, Severino underwent a nerve-conductor test, which was negative, and another CT scan, which also was negative. However, a dye contrast MRI, otherwise known as a MRI arthrogram, discovered a partially torn UCL.
Uh-huh. Just as a certain person who shall remain, well, me called it in this space the day before: it was all about not springing for the special, color MRI.A terrific, and potentially great young Yankees pitcher has been ruined by the penny ante cheapness of Hal & Coops, while similar tactics have all but guaranteed us a bad first half of the season.

ReplyDeleteWhen Roger Maris said his hand was busted, the Yanks gave him a set of tests. They found nothing. Maris continued to play, ut was awful, and the Yanks put it out that he was some sort of hypochondriac psycho.
Finally, Maris said his hand hurt too much to go on playing. They gave him some more tests. Bingo! A broken hand!
