Thanks for posting this. Kaline deserves to be remembered on this blog.
It was the first year I ever really followed the Yankees - 1961 - and Kaline was the batter I most feared coming up in a clutch situation. The Tigers also had Norm Cash and Rocky Colavito - the C-Boys, to match up with M&M. But if I had to put together an all-time Yankee opponents team, Kaline would be the rightfielder.
How many homers did he rob jumping over the 44-inch wall? Seemed like a lot. Right up there with the great Frank Robinson as a great and feared Yankee opponent.
