Again, what is the point of having 59 relief pitchers if you decide to pitch one who obviously doesn't have it until he takes you out of the game?
How can the entire Yanks' pen be so exhausted that Nelson has to stay in to give up 3 runs and counting? This is such a badly imagined and run team that it's unbelievable.
Yikes, when you use the term "Alternate Site" it sounds like you've gotten the @CIA involved and poor Nick Nelson got a black hood pulled over his head and a free flight to some "Alternate Site" to answer questions about the game.
I take it as a strange sort of win that Clint managed (from the sounds of things) to dive and catch a tough ball. I only listen to the games and so am not immune to either The Master's overstatements or Suzyn's audio affidavits but it sounded like a tough play was made. To listen to this year (when I have so far, which is honestly more often than I wish given how much I hate the management of this team) I can't recall another time when a difficult catch was made in the outfield. I'm sure I've missed a few gems and/or am blocking them from my view out of spite but I take this as a good sign. I almost never bet and lose when I do, but if the guy laid out and grabbed a tough one late and a bunch of runs down there might be some fire in him yet.
