  1. Is that "Claw" or "Craw"?

  2. Well, they broke up the no-hitter, but is one run the maximum today?

  3. Looks like Hicks has righted the ship…

  4. In his next visit to AAA, he will get many hits.

  5. Andujar will not.

He is twisting the wind. He knows this is his last shot and one day he is playing first, then on third, then in LF, then on the bench and then in Scranton. One can fairly say; if he is a legitimately special player, it will show.

I guarantee that the National's Soto would not be 0-14 in Andujar's shoes.

I think Andujar will find his way to another team, and he will prove good. But not here. Too much pressure. No one hits here.

But he is already better than most in today's one-up. At least he put the ball in play. For an out of course. But most of the Yankees are just swinging and hitting nothing.

It is really too bad. We need someone to step up and be good.

We used to think that was Judge.

  6. She scratches him because he wants an afternoon cocktail or six?

It is Texas for Christ's sake.

He got his vaccine shots let him have some Bourbon shots.

  7. And Sanchez draws a walk! Miracles WILL never cease!

  8. Ford can’t get to Scranton fast enough…

  9. Watching the entire bottom half of the lineup feels like watching the pitcher bat in an NL game and hoping to get to the lead-off man.

  10. 3rd time through the order…smh

  11. Terrible location on that pitch too.

  12. Yankee turning point of the game coming?

    ReplyDelete
  13. Two-run maximum. Better hope for a tie, I guess.

  14. Great. We've gone from constant strikeouts to constant double-plays. So much for Stanton's hot streak.

  15. Great. Just as he was starting to hit (a little), the Oft-Injured Hicks looks to be injured again.

  16. What an incredibly awful at-bat by Sancho.

But hey, a break: they are actually walking Ford intentionally.

OMFG, as the kids would say.

  17. Frazier cannot hit a 94-mph fastball

    OMFG.

I'm sorry to say it. But this guy is not a major-league ballplayer.

  18. ANOTHER gift from Mr Hand,,,,,, terrible playing and strike outs galore, but they stole another one!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Well, maybe we should take consolation in the fact that they are playing this badly and still winning.

After all, they can't keep playing this bad.

    Can they?

  20. I don't know who said it a while ago, but even the wins are deflating.

  21. And for Kevin:

    It's CRAW!! Not, craw!

Now I need a Buck Henry fix.

  22. Like the Get Smart reference Rufus...

  23. Horace come on... Frazier used to be able to hit the fastball... if we’re going to start dumping slumpers, start with Gary. At least Frazier proved he can catch this week.

  24. Thhh-uhuhuhuhub-UH-UH-UH YANKEES WIN!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Ranger,

Thanks, but credit must go to Kevin, who originated the idea.

But I'll have to also blame him for giving me the Buck Henry jones. I guess I can forgive him.

Favorite item from his NYT obit (well after "plastics"):

"In addition to his wife, Mr. Henry’s survivors include a daughter from another relationship. His wife said she did not know the daughter’s name."

    ME-OW! I smell pre-nup and resentment.

  26. Speaking of Gary, I figured out who put them in the lineup today… The day after the homerun strokah stroked another … it was the fucking marketing department they got them that pink bib.

  27. Would you believe...six hitters batting below .200? No? How about one first baseman hitting below .100?

    Help, 99!

  28. Hoss,

"Missed it by *that* much" is the Yankee hitting order nowadays.

At least I have yard work this summer. And a deck to rebuild. Maybe I'll pick up crochet.

    ReplyDelete
  29. "Would you believe that the *entire Yankee lineup* is hitting .400?"

    "Would you believe .200?"

"How about they went once through the order without injuring themselves?"

    ReplyDelete
  30. Rufus,

    Good one.

  31. Hal and Boone gonna need the Cone of Silence to discuss these issues...

  32. Boone uses his shoe phone to call the bullpen because he knows Cashman has the dugout phone tapped.
