Wasn't there some talk of Gallo having only ground into double play, like, 10 times in his career? Well, he's been infected by the Yankee DP Bug. There's no vaccine for that, Mr Gallo
@Winnie...Baez did thumbs down to fans when they booed him...from article:
Baez, Francisco Lindor and Kevin Pillar were among the players who turned thumbs down after delivering hits in the Mets’ 9-4 victory over the Nationals on Sunday.
Asked about the thumbs down, Baez said it was related to the boos Mets players have received. The Mets are 8-19 in August, a stretch in which they have fallen from first in the NL East to trailing the Braves by 7 ½ games.
“[It’s] to let [fans] know when we don’t have success we are going to get booed, so they are going to get booed when we have success,” Baez said.
In a post-game press conference today, Javy Baez stated that his "thumbs down" gesture during the game was a message to fans who recently have booed him and other players for poor performance. These comments, and any gestures by him or other players with a similar intent, are totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Mets fans are understandably frustrated over the team's recent performance. The players and the organization are equally frustrated, but fans at Citi Field have every right to express their own disappointment. Booing is every fan's right.
The Mets will not tolerate any player gesture that is unprofessional in its meaning or is directed in a negative way toward our fans. I will be meeting with our players and staff to convey this message directly.
Mets fans are loyal, passionate, knowledgeable and more than willing to express themselves. We love them for every one of these qualities.
What are the chances that AROiD stops broadcasting with ESPN? You know - just goes away. He really is awful. A reanimated corpse with half of their head chewed off by thousands of maggots would be an improvement.
I don't understand all the opprobrium directed to Arod and Joe Buck from people who seem to have unlimited tolerance for the nonstop idiocy, ineptitude, and unlistenability of the likes of Suzyn Waldman, Michael Kay, and John Sterling. Arod and Buck are consummate professionals in contrast to the drek crew of Steinbrenner ass-kissers the team has inflicted on Yankee fans for all these decades. Start your broadcasting critique in your own backyard, where you have to listen to these incompetents nearly EVERY DAY, before you venture into other broadcasts booths that you might have to listen to once a month during the season.
There are a few things as boring essay humorless pedant. For someone who loves to lecture us all every day, it’s especially rich to be chastised for lecturing. And let me say this, if you don’t know that Joe Buck is one of the biggest douche bags in town, you are the problem. Same goes for Ass Rod.
"There are a few things as boring essay humorless pedant," wrote the humorless obsessive psychopath, thereby providing an example of UNINTENTIONAL humor of the grimmest sort. Joe Buck is a first-rate announcer who makes Michael Kay seem like an adenoidal retard by comparison. But I'm supposed to know that Buck is a "douchebag"--how HILARIOUS, how HUMOROUS, that turn of phrase!--because you sputter psychopathically on a blog. Get help, asshole. And stop using this blog as a toilet for your anti-vaxxer shit while people are dying, Dufus T. Firefly.

ReplyDeleteBack to the 2021 Yankees we remember.
Wasn't there some talk of Gallo having only ground into double play, like, 10 times in his career? Well, he's been infected by the Yankee DP Bug. There's no vaccine for that, Mr Gallo
ReplyDeleteOh, how I wish Aroid would fall off the planet and take j-ho with him.
ReplyDeleteBats are schtum today. Again.
ReplyDeleteUmp sucks. Again.
ReplyDeleteTwo consecutive Judge ABs -- ump calls BOTH the inside ball and outside ball as strikes.
ReplyDeleteWhat did Javy Baez say??
ReplyDeleteWow, Gardner looks like he's 26 again.
ReplyDeleteIn the field. Nothing at the dish.

What a shit storm in Flushing...
ReplyDeleteNow Alderson is pissed off....
ReplyDeleteAlderson's quuote:

Jeez, at first, I thought they were ripping off the '17 Yankees. This is actually worse!
ReplyDeleteRizzo you unvaccinated ass!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Oakland error makers.
ReplyDeleteBaez is a fucking baby. They've sucked and deserved the boos. Fuck him.
Arod is such a butt-scab fuckface.
ReplyDeleteBut aside from that.
ReplyDeleteAss-scab? Ass-scab would have been better? It's a bit more alliterative and ass is a stronger profanity to call someone.
ReplyDeleteYeah, next time I think ass-scab.
He was actually right in saying Gio had no business playing in so far. Inexplicable.
ReplyDeleteLasagna. Lasagna. Lasagna.
ReplyDeleteVoit swings to kill the ball, and whiffs. A hit would've been good.
ReplyDeleteArod made me say out loud "Oh my god you're an imbecile!"
ReplyDeleteFor neither the first or last time.
Gallo Gallo Gallo ...
ReplyDeleteSmells like another blown game ...
ReplyDeleteGallo doesn't get any Gold Glove for that. And now we're losing.
ReplyDeleteAnd there it is.
ReplyDeleteGreen. Yuck.
ReplyDeleteFucking Chad Green
ReplyDeleteFor fucks sake you useless turds.
ReplyDeleteHeart break and pain. Biting pain and the bitterest heart break.
ReplyDeleteSo how do we shamefully lose? All strikeouts? Maybe a pop up in there?
ReplyDeleteBooooone should pitch Green some more. He probably feels really fresh, lots of life left in that arm.
ReplyDeleteAnd get caught looking at an 0-2 strike right down the pipe
ReplyDeleteSix back after this.
ReplyDeleteBottom of the 8th wasn't enough P-Steve?
ReplyDeleteOh, it's enough. I just wondered how we would fail in the top of the 9th. That's all.
ReplyDeleteStrike out the side and get in over. I'd ask for a pop-up on the first pitch but I know they can't put the ball in play.
ReplyDeleteAnother anemic loss.
ReplyDeleteFuck you aroid!
Fuck you HAL!
Oh look looky. Gio put the ball in play. Hooray.
ReplyDeleteIt’s no surprise to get a split on the road in Oakland.
ReplyDeleteThe Rays picked up another game tonight. We ain’t going to be catching them this year. But the Sux lost. So there’s that.
Rays went 18-1 against the Orioles. Now THAT'S bottom feeding!
ReplyDeleteWell, a split in Oakland isn't bad—just disappointing when you get such good pitching, and when you win the first two.
Doesn't matter in the long run. The Rays ain't gonna win it all—and neither are we. The magic number is still 6.
