We all want Brain gone. That’s a given. But who should
replace him? Theo Epstein? Buck Showalter? Poach someone from the Rays or
Dodgers? Sure. On one level that would make sense, but this team is so messed up the job may be too much for a regular GM.
I mean, let's face it... Our (club) house is overstuffed with useless hand me downs and players we picked up at a garage sale. It’s filled with expensive items we regret buying but won’t get rid of because we would feel foolish. Broken down items we no longer want but keep for sentimental reasons. The list goes on...
We need a professional de-clutterer.
We need Marie Kondo.
Some stats: Marie’s “first television show,
"Tidying Up With Marie Kondo" was Netflix's #1 non-fiction release in
2019 and earned 7 award nominations - 2 Emmys, 3 Critics Choice Awards, 1
Realscreen Award and 1 TCA Award. In 2015, she was also listed as one of Time
Magazine's 100 most influential people. “
Her philosophy in a nutshell. Look
at an item in your house. If it doesn’t spark joy… get rid of it!
Does. It. Spark. Joy? Das it.
I will spare you the full breakdown
of the team and its management. There
are so few players that spark joy that even Marie might end up swinging from a jump rope in the training room.
That said, it is an
interesting and productive exercise because there’s a reason this was the least
enJOYable Yankee team I have ever watched, and I’d like a GM that brings the
spark back!
ReplyDeleteI'm too busy sitting shiva to even think about any of this.
and making chicken soup to soothe my soul.
She's cuter than Brain, too.
ReplyDeleteJust saying.
It's gonna be an awfully empty clubhouse.
ReplyDeletePathetic.
John & Suzyn would stay.
