Xanax

Before Giancarlo finally ended the streak, I was beginning to root for a second no hitter against the Yankees, in consecutive games.

I was thinking it would be like a form of chastisement. A lesson to be learned,

At various points, I was so demoralized I no longer wished to watch.

Then I read that DJ had tied the game.

So I tuned back in.  And King had Astros on first and third with no one out.

And he squirmed out of it.  I was actually wondering if we would ever want Chapman back?

I knew the Yankees needed this game.  Needed to win, not to have talks about, "what we have to do better."

So I took a big orange one to relax a bit ( maybe it was white ).

I, nonetheless, came near to a collapse when Kiner-Filafa resorted to a bunt with two strikes, to move Aaron into scoring position.

I never thought DJ would not put the ball in play.

I took a hit of "lemonade haze" when Carpenter was intentionally walked.

And then, Judge.

The man is special.

That was an importantYankee comeback.

There will be many big games ahead.

I'll do what I can to stay calm.  You know, relaxed.

  1. On second bourbon. Some ice. This was just horrible today after that thing last night. I am clinging to losing so I won’t have my hopes dashed tomorrow. I tell myself “ we really lost that game” to protect my fragile heart…..
What is wrong with DJ? Did we really win that? Wow

  2. but what of Gleyber's ankle?

and Michael Kay's being in the booth even years after his passing?

    and Marlo Thomas?

    what about her?

what's Suzyn going to do with herself after retirement?

write a tell-all book and play the slots?

    so many questions

  3. Ma Boone saying that The Gleyber just turned his ankle and should be day-to-day.

Maybe he'll be back by August.

  4. Every win is a Big Yankee Win, but that was a True Big Yankee Win.

Judge needs to be a lifetime Yankee. Retired number. Plaque in Monument Park. Plaque in Cooperstown.

  5. I tuned in to hear the Master call the last licks today but didn’t hear the warble - did I miss it?

That may have been a defining moment of the season. A huge win. To have lost three straight to those bozos would have been a boner killer.

And Booooone said after the game: “We’re a really good team. And if we would have lost three out of four, swept four, got swept, nothing changes.”

What a crock of shit that man is. Nothing changes.

  6. I mean, that's the attitude you have to have as the manager. But still.

  7. Boooone, A man destined for politics....

  8. Kevin, Booooone is already in the business of politics: kissing babies and asses. That's how he got the job in the first place. As long as the Yankees keep winning, all is well. Except in here. We have LOTS to complain about. I won't mention any names.

  9. Dick? All our names are visible. You could just do a roll call.

  10. Ah, Win! I was alluding to certain individuals wearing pinstripes!

Far be it from me to impugne or sully the names any of the fine souls who populate this eminent blog.

Is that taking it a bit too far?

  11. And I went back to the replay and The Master didn’t warble in the wake of Judge’s walk-off!

  12. Ma and Pa Yankee were talking yesterday about how no team has ever been no-hit in two consecutive games in major league history. I was wondering about that myself. Could they get no-hit again yesterday? I was half hoping that they would. Maybe that would get that weasel out of the front office, along with trained astronaut Ba-Boone.

To add to my list of astonishing, mind boggling, Yankee inglorious records to come in the near future:

    1. Getting no-hit for an entire week during the regular season.

    2. Getting no-hit in three consecutive playoff games.

    3. Getting no-hit for an entire playoff series.

    4. Getting no-hit for the entire World Series. They might still win the World Series, though. You can still score runs even if you're no-hit. To win four World Series games without getting a hit? Wouldn't that be a treat to behold? That would certainly prove that God is a Yankee fan.
