  1. Good to know, thanks.

On a related note, I have noticed that I can now watch in-market games on the MLBTV app (with the free t-mobile account). Has MLB removed the restriction or is there some intertubes weirdness going on with my devices?

  3. The article is even stupider than it sounds, Joe.

The author wants to sign Judge, but says that if the Yanks can't, they should go after:

    —Trout
    —Ohtani
    —Brian Reynolds
—Barring those three, maybe Rafael Devers, maybe Juan Soto

Only trouble? All 5 would require "a large package" of great young players.

Right. Trout is ALREADY the 30-something guy running into injury problems you fear Judge is going to be.

Judge may be having an incomparable year, the writer claims, but "Ohtani is always having an incomparable year." Ah, yeah. Like that .190 in 2020, almost no pitching to speak of in 2019-2020, etc. Ohtani is a lifetime, .265 hitter, who had a very good year last year, and is having another one this year. But he would be yet another DH on a Yankees roster already crowded with them, and a once-a-week starter.

Reynolds is hitting .261, and looked VERY shaky in CF on this visit. Soto is still an unknown quality, and sure, the Red Sox are going to deal Devers for some reasonable package...

  4. ...Fact remains, giving Judge a contract the size of what the market seems to demand would carry a lot of risk. But without him, they're screwed.

If he chooses to go despite their best effort, the thing to do is NOT to turn over all your prospects for a dubious substitute. If the Yanks lose Judge, knock on wood spit between my fingers, they would be better off dealing away all the dead wood on this club for what they could get, and rebuilding from scratch.

They would also be better off doing that without Brian Cashman.

  5. n.b., I try to make it a point not to read the acne prone 'writers' on fansided.

What Hoss said at 2:57 am.

    Hoss, do you sleep?

  6. Are we to assume that Android users without an Apple account are SOL?

  7. Kind of looks that way, LBJ.

Platoni, I wonder why you can see the games? Interesting possible glitch. Keep us posted.

  8. Actually, it looks like the game is available on MLB.tv. Since I live out in the hinterlands, I'm a mlb.tv subscriber just so I can see the games. Phew.

  9. JM, the only thing I can think of is that since I used MLBTV plenty while abroad over the summer, it has somehow not figured out that I am back in the NY area. In the past, when I used the iphone app, it would take a few seconds to figure out my location. A map would pop up then a dot indicating my location would appear after a few seconds. This is not happening now.

For now, I'll just ride it as far as it goes.

  10. LBJ,

I'll be Debbie Downer and point out that the last I knew, you were in the carmines 'home' area. Game will be blacked out to you through mlb.tv unless you pretend you are elsewhere.

That will be difficult for me this evening to avoid the Fox audio.
