Jack Curry reporting that Scott Effross is undergoing Tommy John surgery. That's why Miguel Castro is on the roster. It was him or Albert Abreu. The only two healthy relievers available.
Our bullpen is a disaster.
Chad Green, Michael King, Zack Britton, and Scott Effross are out for the season with injuries.
Ron Marinaccio is off the ALDS roster with a shin injury.
Wandy Peralta (back) and Clay Holmes (shoulder) had injuries last month but are on the roster. Who knows how trustworthy they are right now?
Indeed, why is Peraza not on the roster? Why would they think Castro is more valuable, when the only time he'll pitch is if the game is lopsided either way? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
And the Effross acquisition by Brainless Cashman, that sure worked out, didn't it?
Omitting Peraza is typical Boone-Cashman stupidity. He is more valuable than at least four of the players on the roster. Same old chronic irrational mistrust of young players. Cleveland has the youngest roster in the AL, the Yanks have the oldest. That's one of the reasons the Yankees will lose.

Doubly stupid not to put Peraza on the roster with DJ out.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the pen is a disaster. This team will be lucky to beat the Cleveland Guardians of Traffic.
Feel bad for Floss. But boy was that a dumb trade!
ReplyDeleteWonder where David Robertson is right now. Oh, right! In the next round of the playoffs with the Phillies!
Well, no need to have him. Or Monty.
You just made me miss Ronald Torreyes.
ReplyDeleteRobertson got hurt in the Phils celebration and is off the roster. At least it wasn’t an infected tattoo.
ReplyDeleteDJ has a broken foot bone. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have Weissert than Castro. Castro sucks. Ask any Mets fan. Another dumb trade, btw.
ReplyDeletePeraza...fuck
3B Donaldson, SS Stopgap-Falafel...fuck
DH John Carlo Mike Cruz...fuck
Gonzalez has to ride the rooster in case Rizzo's back barks...another fuck
Floss out Castro in...fuck
Hicks...not enough fucks in all the world (watch Hicks play postseason hero ball just to piss me off)
You already know...he has one clutch 3 run homer saved up just for shits and giggles
DeleteI'd rather have Peraza on the roster than Gonzalez.
ReplyDeleteDon't think it really matters, anyway. This clubs is going nowhere.

ReplyDeleteI'll bet you a nickel that when the Crack Baseball Committee discussed player 26 that playoff experience trumped rookie...
So the ONLY guy left from the trading deadline is the guy with the boot?
ReplyDeleteDid not see that coming. Fire Cashman!
Also, no Peraza is just stupid.
They picked Marwin instead of a guy with better infield defense, much better hitter, and stole 34 bases in Scranton.
Stupid.
But we have three center fielders so we're covered there.
I give up.

I will always miss Jordan Montgomery.
ReplyDeleteBut who needs pitching?
Not us, noooo…not us…

ReplyDeleteYeah, Tampa is one of the youngest as well.....
ReplyDeleteYeah, and they are consistently competitive despite having one of the smallest payrolls in the sport. Thanks for the reaffirmation of my point.
ReplyDeleteIf you have a GOOD young team, that is an advantage this time of year when everyone is worn down. That wear tells more on older players.
