  1. Why do you hate us so much that you torture us with visions of what fun we could have if only we lived in Cali.
The Inquisitors had nothing on you you fiend.

  2. It's a good day to be thankful for the great ones that embodied Yankee pride. I'm thankful for stumbling upon this gem, the memorial service from Mel Allen's funeral:

    Sublime.

At the end of the service you'll see the mourners filing out, including Joe Pepitone, The Chairman of the Board, The Boss, Joe D, Yogi and the Scooter.

Bonus clip including memories from the master himself:

    Funny.

    Speaking of CA...

A few weeks ago I came across an article on the best pizzerias in the world. There's one in SF that was number ten. The pizza menu was so insanely good that, health issues be damned, I am going to eat there next chance I get.

  8. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

This world is like a sharp stick in the eye sometimes but today is a good day to look around and take stock of the things we have to be thankful for.

  9. 9} Wonder why Sam Bankman-Fried didn't purchase the Yankees last year with an overwhelming offer Hal could not refuse so he could already have a 10-year contract extension worth 400 million dollars and not do this dog-and-pony holiday tour.

  10. @ Doug....why wait? Go later today and have a pizza with turkey as a topping.

By the way, New Haven has 3 of the top 20 pizza spots. Next time you travel through the area, I'll buy you a large pizza of your choice at Sally's, Pepe's or Modern Pizza. The latter is my favorite.

  13. Where in the New Haven area do you live, Carl?

I grew up around there - so I'z a bit curious.

Louis' Lunch, although not pizza is also iconic local fare (especially when the old man and his wife were doing the making and serving) . . .

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

I for one am thankful that Carlos Beltran disappeared from the booth (something that got very little notice) . . .

(This is where I'd post a funny Thanksgiving photo if I could but I can't so I won't)

Back to the kitchen now - as there's work to be done.

  14. Did you grow up in Branford?

    Great little library.

Ahhhh Branford - I remember when the Francis Walsh Intermediate School opened. I liked Principal Walsh. Very nice guy.

  15. I grew up in NJ and Fairfield County. I've been in Branford for about 25 years. It seems like you did grow up here. Small world!
