Yeah, the question is will HAL unleash the wallet to go for it or will HAL tighten up and say his work is done?
I think they have to get more pitching. Someone better than Cole to be the ace. They need to move out the dead wood. Donaldson should be released.
Realistically, I have zero hope that they'll trim any dead wood. They already said that Donaldson is going to be here for next year, right? So the only real hope is that they do something on the pitching side and add some lefty bats. I also hope that they overhaul the coaching staff, but I'm sure they won't.
And you know, I think to a great degree, we forced this. Not just we lunatics on this site, but Yankees fans in general. All over the internet, the reaction to him not signing was dripping with vitriol.
I honestly think HAL and Cashie did not want to face that, much as they were drooling over the money. So—good for us!

ReplyDeleteYay Team!
Now show us you care by signing some more
And showing others the door
The Yankees need to go all-in over the next three years or so.
ReplyDeleteJudge will be 31, 32, and 33.
Stanton will be 33, 34, and 35.
Cole will be 32, 33, and 34.
There's only so much prime left for these guys.
Bully the market and win a chip before it all goes tits up.
Worry about re-setting the luxury tax threshold in 2026.
Screw 2031. Win now with Judge in his prime and then pray for contract-voiding steroid scandal in year 6-7.
ReplyDeleteJudge won the $100M bet he made this spring.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to a repeat of the Mattingly era.

Amen, Zachary! Amen!
