Walk Up Songs

I read this article in the New York Post the other day and was playing with solving it for him with limited success.

Aaron Judge’s meticulous search for walk-up song drives wife crazy

https://nypost.com/2023/01/25/aaron-judges-meticulous-search-for-walk-up-song-drives-wife-crazy/

I thought I'd open it up to the rest of the commentariat.  It would be cool if we found the perfect walk up songs for the whole line up.

  2. From "The Impossible Dream..."

AND THE WORLD WILL BE BETTER FOR THIS
THAT ONE MAN, SCORNED AND COVERED WITH SCARS
STILL STROVE WITH HIS LAST OUNCE OF COURAGE
    TO REACH THE UNREACHABLE STARRRRRRRRRRRR

  3. Publius -

"Giancarlo Stanton "All Or Nothing At All", Frank Sinatra"

    Wow. That's perfect.

I thought about "Loser" for Josh Donaldson as well but switched to "Yesterday"

Stanton - Money For Nothing - Dire Straits

Really great choice of song but Stanton delivers every once in a while. May I be so bold as to move that one to Josh Donaldson?

  9. Doug, the only thing is Jackie D is here for one more year. Stanton is here for an eternity or so it feels like.

  10. Good point. Although the above "All or Nothing At All" really does describe what I like to refer to as the two Stantons.

Maybe Donaldson is "Nowhere Man" or should that belong to Hicks.

Too bad Cashman doesn't get a walk up song because "He's a real nowhere man living in his nowhere land making all his nowhere plans for nobody." is a very apt description.

  11. @ Edhall69....I had the exact same song in mind for Judge. They can play the intro and first stanza of the song.

Every mornin' at the mine you could see him arrive
He stood six-foot-six and weighed two-forty-five
Kinda broad at the shoulder and narrow at the hip
And everybody knew ya didn't give no lip to big John
    (Big John, big John)
    Big bad John (big John)

  12. No effing walk-up music for anybody. Get a hit or a walk or move a runner up without baseless aggrandizing preceding your efforts. It's been done before.

Failing that: "It's Over" for Hicks has me laughing. Good one, Publius!

  13. Who's sorry now.

Hicks. Stanton. Jackie Robinson. Jogginson Torres if he doesn't mash it from the start.

And any other Ca$hole reclamation waste of roster space that comes along during the season.

  14. IKF, "Can't You Hear Me Knockin'", Rolling Stones

  15. How has no one suggested "The Jolly Green Giant" by the Kingsmen for Judge?

I'm shocked that our aging crew has missed this one.
