Nice to see you. But does a Stanton "lower body soft tissue" injury really merit your appearance. It's not quite the sun coming up in the morning, but it's eminently, depressingly, predictable.
Every friggin’ year with this guy. What an idiot Cashman was to take on his contract. At least we have plenty of candidates to fill in the “slow, doesn’t hustle” DH spot while Stanton relaxes and counts his money
Many more knowledgable people than I here who might be able to-without accusing anyone of anything or raising undue suspicion-answer this: How does insurance work in this case?
Grade 2 Hammy injury per source. Most people about 4-5 weeks. Stanton ? Well ---see you on the 4th of July. Jeter knew. At least Stanton will have plenty of teammates to rehab with. Why does the image of Babe Ruth throwing around a medicine ball and then eating hotdogs come to mind? Stanton should try that with Kahnle.
re insurance, fascinating question the answer to which probably holds much explanatory power about Yankees' many, many trips to the IL the last few years. I strongly suspect the Yankees have a financial incentive to place players on the injured list for protracted periods of time. How it works exactly, the details, I don't know. But there's a pattern, and the other explanations for it are 1) astonishingly bad luck, 2) over-abundance of caution regarding the slightest tweak. Financial relief seems more Yankees Inc, doesn't it?

ReplyDeleteA Stantonian Injury! Staton is Porcelain!
ReplyDeleteGiancarlo, è stato fermato!
ReplyDeleteStanton wishes he was as durable as porcelain.
ReplyDeleteThere's only one reason why Stanton has always gotten injured by just existing. I won't say why here but I'll call it the " Lyle Alzado Syndrome".
@ BJPB, Giancarlo il est porcelano!
ReplyDeleteHammer - Good one.
ReplyDeleteCole is kinda rolling. Hopefully they've all found that good undetectable stickum.
ReplyDeleteGleyber hurt? You know Peraza is in the dugout. So Peraza at short Volpe at second.
ReplyDeleteWorks for me.
Shit Holmes is up.
ReplyDeleteAlso Gleyber is the worst base runner I think I have ever seen.
Theuuuuhuhuhuhuh-UHUH-UHUH-UHUHUUUUUHHHH Yankees win!!! You go Cole!! You go DJ!!
ReplyDeleteHammer OG,
ReplyDeleteI think I'm done throwing Cole under the School Bus.
He impressed me today* - so I think I'll just back the truck on over to 3K Hicks.
*(unless the CG shuts him down with armm problems, etc)
So glassman admires his "HR", then has to sprint unexpectedly because it ain't. He then tweaks a gonads from it.
ReplyDeleteIn a fair and just world, he'd be suspended without pay EVERY time he pulls that shit, with or without the injury.
Good win..we tied this series…
ReplyDeleteWhen you hit that many HRs why do you have to watch them?
ReplyDeleteWhy can't these guys just freaking run and then watch the blast on the scoreboard?
DBags.
Stand at the plate. Trot to first. Realize what's happening. Run hard to second.
ReplyDeleteThen...
Mammy! It's your little baby Sammy! All the way from Alabamy! Just to eat your eggs and...hammy!
Stanton out 4-6 weeks. Then bad for the next two. Whatta putz.
ReplyDeleteDon’t be surprised if it’s more than 6 weeks.

ReplyDeleteRe: Insurance. You’d have to kill him. You’d also have to get in line.
ReplyDeleteImagine if Mike Trout was on the team....😱
ReplyDeleteConsidering how much of the payroll he takes up and how frequently he is hurt, Stanton MIGHT have been the worst trade in Yankees history.
ReplyDeleteJust astonishing.

He'll play again after the All Star break. Maybe

ReplyDeleteIt certainly does. I wouldn't be shocked.
ReplyDeletePlayers are paid while on IL. Insurance will only pay for career ending injuries...
