Speaking truth to power, Michael Kay courageously takes on the Cleveland bat boy

File this one away: April 11, 2023. On this night, YES announcer Michael Kay fought the Cleveland bat boy's hair.

  2. Bat boy? Dude looks like a 26 year old extra from dazed and confused

  3. I had the unfortunate experience of listening to Kay pontificate about this pregame on his radio show.
Batboys don’t travel with the team so this was a Cleveland batboy. Cleveland Rocks.

Re: the edict, is this supposed to be some kind of tribute to ol’ George? Players are men in their 20’s and 30’s and should wear their hair anyway they goddam want it.
Hair like jesus wore it / hallelujah! I adore it.

Speaking of George, is that horrible representation of him still up at the stadium, glaring out at the crowd in Mephistophelian splendor? It’s one of the reasons I won’t set foot in the shopping mall/baseball they’ve erected.

  4. Michael, "That rabbit-boy has a vicious streak a mile long".

  5. "Rules are rules"...said every monster, ever.

So no one who even sets foot in the Yankees' clubhouse can have long hair? Perhaps, too, Kay spotted a vendor or two who was not fully shaven.

    What a twerp.

  6. Interesting factoid regarding Marcus Stroman (you know, the guy who wanted to be a Yankee but was kept at arms length). He has a 3.49 ERA over his past 805 MLB innings. Guess we have too much depth....

  7. I'd be careful if I were Kay. The person in question could be transitioning.

  8. If not for that stupid olicy, the Yankees might have gotten Castillo. Time for The Yankees to get with the times.

  9. I watched the Padres the other night. You know, the team with Machado at 3B and Soto in LF.

We couldn’t afford them, but somehow San Diego, a small-market club can?

Fuck Hal. Fuck The Intern and fuck his BaBooooone.

  10. Boonie has a good point wrt the review bs…

  11. Missed Bumbling, Bubbling, Seed-Spitting, Aaron "Gosh You Sure Are A Genius with an Explosive Temper" Boone getting tossed.

It was because of the trapped ball review?

  12. Franconia never asked for a review. Umps saw video screen in CF and reviewed it…30,000 umpires in Cleveland reacted too…

  13. Clark Kent is the 2023 version of Luis Cessa, which means he'll be on the roster for the next 5 years.

  14. I didn't realize today was a day game. We're embarrassing ourselves early, I see.

Kay is a dork. Boone is an idiot. Dick Allen is 100% correct.

  15. Wonder how long he'll last.

  16. Franchy Cordero...

9 HR in 411 PA with BOS
4 HR in 26 PA with NYY

    Makes me smile.

  17. Anyone out there throw up a little bit in their mouth before choking down a couple of rolaids?

  18. King should be closing. Just because he got hurt, Holmes got the job. Even though he hasn't been reliable much of the time.

  19. I thought Gleyber Cano was injured?

Kay is beyond an idiot. I miss Ken Singleton. Not to mention the huckleberries.

  23. Yankees’ failed pitching experiment broke a Nolan Ryan (and AL) strikeout record. No kidding.

Left-hander Andrew Heaney, who gave up a slew of home runs when he pitched for the Yankees in 2021, broke one of Nolan Ryan’s strikeout records. No, really.

  26. Kay is an insufferable dolt. Conforms perfectly with the rest of the Yankees' off-field personnel--and some on-field as well. "Let's do it!" Do it with Kay? Does he realize what a nauseating thought that is? Probably--that's why he opens the game that way--intentionally to annoy.

  27. For those who obsess over such things (Like me)

Jasson Dominguez is 0-16 with 9 K’s. His call-up is uh, not imminent.

2022 1st round selection Spencer Jones BA is .455 with a 1.535 OPS. Living’ La Vida Local

2021 1st round selection is batting Trey Sweeney BA is.333 with 1.111 OPS - our next Third Baseman.

2020 1st round selection Austin Wells continues to recover from a rib injury. He is leading a life of quiet, desperate solitude at the Somerset Econo Lodge, and other guests are complaining of strange noises emanating from his room. He will likely have to repeat a year at A level as penance. Look not for him in the Bronx anytime soon.

  29. DickAllen,
who needs Soto when we have all of Franchy?
All for the tidy sum of 1Mil.

There will be chants of MVP soon.

Meanwhile, on the pitch of Italian soccer teams, Hal just nods and says, "I'll purchase the Genoa team, please. I just adore their salami."

  30. The batboy by the way is the drummer for a metal band called The Open Doors. There's a picture on Twitter of him and Rizzo with Ant'ny wearing an Open Doors t-shirt. Makes me think maybe Rizzo hates Kay. Of course, I imagine everyone hates Kay.
