I've Been In Swan Re-Hab

I kept swallowing lily pads that had developed an alcohol residue from over exposure to global warming.  And it made me swim in circles for a while, so I missed announcing a few injuries.

But today;  I announce the IR status of Nestor Cortez, our number 2 ( no pun intended ) starter.  Our esteemed managed ( Boone) has issued his usual marshmallow remark; " we are hopeful he only misses one or two starts."

Nothing official was mentioned as to where the pain ( or discomfort) is actually located.  I think it is mostly in my brain.

I also find it suspicious that Aaron is not in the line-up today. We all saw him run through a wall to make a catch, and that rarely goes without injury.  Just talk to old " what's his name?"

So, what is Boone not telling us about our star?

"Needs a rest on the west coast trip, despite the day off between Seattle and LA?"  Or, "we can beat the Dodgers without him?"  Or, "we are looking at the long run here?"  Finally, " I want to get a longer look at an outfield of Calhoun, IKF and Bauers?"

If there is a God, he needs to save us from such drivel.

  1. It was the worst of times

It was the end of days

    Here’s an Above Average quiz:

A Yankee will be injured during tonight’s game.

Guess which player it will be and win a free extra month of life on planet earth.

Guess which inning and the injury and I’ll double it to two months.

    No wagering please.

  2. I guess we’re punting this game. Wonder how badly Judge is hurt?

Cortez obviously not throwing the ball he did last year. A shoulder injury is usually the worst thing a pitcher can sustain, so prepare for the worst, meaning done for the year.

Somebody just dropped the glass menagerie on the floor.

  3. How can he not play Judge. National TV, the Dodgers, rubber game.... Boone is an even bigger idiot than I thought. And that was really damn big.

  4. JM - Judge is clearly banged up by wall

  5. Judge lost his altercation with the wall. Maybe has to go back on the IL, but up in the air for now.

    Ugh.

  6. Thanks, AA. I didn't realize.

    Boone is still an idiot.

  7. JM glad I could help.

    Boone is indeed

  8. Is this the game thread?

Is boner still an idiot? (no, he's an imbecile)

Can anyone believe that Gleyber Cano did *anything* right on the basepaths?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

  9. Exasperating as always. Judge says he's "feeling fine."

Boone says he has a banged-up foot. Or toe. And that he just wants to be sure he's feeling all right. Or that they were working on it last night and today. And that they'll probably have x-rays on it when they get back to New York.

Just infuriating. The damned x-rays should've been taken last night. If Judge was just bruised, he should play. If it's a fracture, he should go on the DL, and they should rush someone else up.

    Period.

  10. The death barge PR dept. says he's "day to day".

    I'm hoping for July.

  11. What a crap organization.

German looks great tonight. He's better now than earlier in the game.

  15. We need a devo naming mechanism for the kobblepot's. Devo had Bob 1 and Bob 2. We need a Oz 1 and Oz 2.

  16. Maybe we should send Volpe to SWB…oh

  18. Love the two airheads behind home plate (in the bottom of the ninth) ignoring the game and chatting with the meatheads in the row behind them.

  19. Speaking of gettin' Jiggy with it, Will Smith is picked off.

  20. Peralta is doing fine, but why not King here?

  21. Nice win! Good to see Volpe come through.

  22. King threw 33 yesterday. So he was unavailable.

  23. A day to travel, then the 3rd worst record on the league. Hopefully they'll win a couple of those games.

  24. G'night all.

I'll leave you with this delightful blooper reel from the carmine's game today:

  25. Those 33 pitches from King yesterday were great.

Glad Holmes got the job done.

Judge will either miss an extended period of time or he won't.

The LA Times however reports that the Dodger stadium right field wall is going on the 10 day IL.

  26. WOW, although LA has been inconsistent so for this year when I saw German starting I thought we would lose the series for sure. Nice win today but the bad news continues with Nasty hitting the IL. With Rodan being a distant dream Cashole needs to do SOMETHING to fix the starting rotation

  27. You would have to imagine that there’s going to be a trade on the horizon for some pitching. It may be painful if we wind up moving some of our better young bodies but we’ll need a couple of starters if indeed Nasty hits the IL and Crampa Cole continues to show fatigue

  28. LA's bush-league gate/fence, incidentally, yet another sign of how HAL just doesn't give a damn. That would have had his father in a lather.

For Hal? Well, I'm sure Judge is insured.
