Date Transaction 06/28/23 New York Yankees activated RHP Ian Hamilton from the 15-day injured list. 06/28/23 New York Yankees optioned RHP Jhony Brito to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
A little over 20 years ago, my brother and I were planning a trip to the stadium for a game. Being a Yankees history buff, I wanted to go to Yogi Berra Day. My brother insisted that he had no interest in seeing the Expos, the Yankees’ opponent that day, because they sucked and he wanted to see the Yankees play a real team. So, we went to another game.
As you probably remember, Yogi Berra Day was the day David Cone threw his perfect game.
Tonight was kind of strange. I was doing work, had the game on but kind of casually watching. It wasn’t until the 7th inning when I heard Ruocco (or whoever it was) say “that’s 20 up and 20 down for Domingo German!” that I was like, “wait, what?” and fully focused on the game.
Well, as badly as Cashole has screwed this team, at least we will have this amazing moment in Yankee history to look back and enjoy. Nestled among all the sub .225 batting averages this may be the bright spot in the season. We will have the 24th and 4th perfect game in MLB history!! Congrats everyone, keep this one close to your heart because it will most likely be the highlight of the season
