A Second member of the Yankees pitching staff has recently violated the laws of christian values.
Both Yankee violators were from the Dominican Republic.
Each was suspended for the season for "domestic abuse" issues. No details were provided. But the MLB ( and norms of society ) code of conduct was broken. And no defense has yet been offered by either perpetrator.
Johnny ( a distinctly common name in the DR ) Cordero is the latest abuser to be identified and dealt with.
So what is going on?
I know the DR background is purely coincidental. It can't be something in the air. This happens in every society.
But Johnny Cordero's suspension is a poor brochure headline for the lovely resorts in that country.
It is beginning to look as though the Yankee GM is not carefully vetting some of the pitchers he finds on the trash heap.
Do other teams have these issues?
Not to mention the idiot GM signed Chapman, another abuser.
ReplyDeleteAA, to answer your query in the last post, it would be nice if all the secrecy were about MLB wanting to protect the victims of domestic abuse.
ReplyDeleteBut I suspect the real reason is the same one why we can never get a straight story on injuries anymore. Just reflexive, corporate secrecy.
Joe FOB, you want to have a pissing contest here about presidential nepotism, fine.
ReplyDeleteBut there's an old Arabian adage:
"He who's son-in-law sits on sudden, $2-billion hedge fund shouldn't throw stones."
Just sayin'.
Not to mention Ivanka extorting the Chinese for trademarks and Jared's pre- shakedown of Bin Salman for protection after the brutal murder of Khashoggi, by making Chinese firms invest in his distressed properties in order to meet Trump administration lackeys.
DeleteThe one time I went to the DR, it was on business. During the drive from the airport to the city, we saw four cops beating a guy with nightsticks who was already on the ground, helpless.
ReplyDeleteCordero and German fit right into my initial impression of the country. The best thing I can say about the DR is that it's not Haiti.
This is Lawrence. Lawrence, Kansas. Anyone at all?
ReplyDeleteWho got hit with a ball?
ReplyDeleteA fan.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of an old SNL skit about the game show titled: “Qui es Muy Macho.”
ReplyDeleteOnly this version is not funny.
little help here....
ReplyDeleteLurking on line with espn gameday. what happened?
Great skit, Dick.
ReplyDeleteWhere the heck is everyone?
ReplyDeleteAnd why did Boone use Nick Ramirez?
ReplyDeleteThe Kid!!!!! 4-3!!!!
Rufus? You out there?
ReplyDeleteMcKinney gets a hit. This could work out.
Sucks
ReplyDeleteI was way busy with way too many things. I heard that Judge is now managing the team. Is that correct? Lawrence ? Kansas ?
ReplyDeleteSorry, eating dinner.
ReplyDeleteAnother glad I missed it game.
n.b., politics don't belong here, except for the great and powerful duque. He can say whatever the fuck he wants. And does. And is quite funny when he does, even with political stuff thrown in. News flash, I seldom agree with his politics, but don't give a flying fuck. We're fucking Yankees fans!
We're all Yankee fans. Probably don't agree on the Yankees, let alone politics. Let's leave it at that.
Howevah, if anyone says Munson doesn't belong in the HOF, thems fightin wurds!
Politics? What's that?
ReplyDeleteBoone is the leader of the Idiot Party.
AA,
ReplyDeleteGettin' busy with it, were you?
JM,
ReplyDeleteYou reminded me of Gracie Allen, head of the ticket for the Surprise Party.
You didn’t really think they were going to sweep Baltimore, did you?
ReplyDeleteWhile Stanton and Donaldson have drawn much of our ire, Rizzo and DJLM have been unbelievably bad as well. Rizzo hasn’t hit a HR in 7 weeks? Doesn’t seem possible. As for DJLM, he’s been trending down the past 2 seasons, and now looks like a reanimated corpse 🧟♂️ in the batter’s box. It can’t all be from that toe injury. He is turning 35 next week and may be done. Another stupid multi-million dollar contract handed out to an over 30 y/o player by Wormtongue Cashman.
BTR,
ReplyDeletethanks for uplifting the mood. seriously.
Night all...
Over our Heads Firefly-
ReplyDeleteYepperz
Didn't watch the game as it was not on one of the 586,000 channels I pay for, so fuck it. Sounds like I picked a good night to give up Yankees.
ReplyDeleteThere is something seriously wrong with Donaldson. Not only 0 homers in 7 weeks, but only 10 ribbies, 15 walks to 34 strikeouts, OPS down from .907 to .777.
But hey, why worry when you can just keep playing him and pretend there is nothing wrong?
The "5 Inning Starter Syndrome" strikes again.
ReplyDeleteCounting on the bullpen way to much.
I am waiting for "Pitch Count Friday" for Rodon.
Flawed team .
On the bright side, each Yankee MILB team won.
ReplyDeleteWarren went 5.2 innings of 2-hit shutout ball for SWB.
Recent call up Perriera is batting .444.
Peraza is back in the lineup.
with the draft coming this weekend, some new guys to follow too.
