Clearly, when they hit a ball, it stays hut.
But a question:
What if, every time they don't hit a ball - that is, they strike out - the Exit Velo is entered-in as "0 mph?"
What would happen to their 90 mph averages?
Not trying to cause trouble here. I mean, Exit Velo is a fun stat, right? It shows the real sluggers, right? Everybody loves it, right?
Just askin'...
Why don’t we coat Hal, Cash, and Boone with a ton of Vaseline and measure their EXIT VISCOSITY as we kick their arses outta the Bronx?
ReplyDeleteAA, That is an excellent idea! I second the proposal! All in favor of the motion, say "AYE"!
ReplyDeleteDuque, That's what we've been advocating for! Strikeouts should be entered as a "0" exit velocity for that at bat. Otherwise, if Stanton whiffs 400 times, and hits 30 moonshots, he'll have a ridiculously high exit velo. When we know that he is actually a terrible, terrible hitter.
Aye. Also, aye-aye.
ReplyDeleteOK OK OK - it has come to my attention that many of you would prefer something more impactful.
ReplyDeleteSo instead of Vaseline - - - make it Vicks VaporRub.
Why don’t we coat Hal, Cash, and Boone with a ton of Vicks VaporRub and measure their EXIT VISCOSITY as we kick their arses outta the Bronx?
Aye,aye!!!
ReplyDeleteEver notice how many EVO Kings aren't necessarily valuable hitters?
I say AYE!
ReplyDeleteRespectfully request a slight modification that involves coating in honey and a huge fire ant colony.
Throw in some murder hornets!!!!
