Winter’s been raw as a campout in Banff,
Your new basement walls are moldy and damp,
Your curtains caught fire from a knocked-over lamp —
. Relax!
. Pitchers and catchers are reporting to camp.
Your check-writing hand’s developed a cramp,
Your bills are all due and you ain’t got a stamp,
Creditors cling to your neck like a clamp —
. Smile!
. Pitchers and catchers are reporting to camp.
Your yard is now split by a new freeway ramp,
Your son is engaged to a gold-digging tramp,
Your “guitar hero” neighbor’s just bought a new amp —
. Life is good!
. Pitchers and catchers are reporting to camp.
Better than brilliant, Ike!

ReplyDeleteday before pitchers and catchers are scheduled to report for spring training, the Yankees made a move to add to their pitching depth, trading for LHP Clayton Andrews, who was recently designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers.
ReplyDeleteIn exchange, the Yanks sent RHP Joshua Quezada, a 19-year-old they signed to a minor league deal in January of last year, to MIL.
In 3.1 innings, the 27-year-old Andrews pitched to a 27.00 ERA, allowing 10 earned runs on 10 hits, including three home runs. The lefty struck out four and walked two in his brief tenure in the majors. (Courtesy SNY)
You're in some guy's way. He says "move over" Gramps!
ReplyDeleteThe 'backy in your pipe will no longer tamp.
You just called a freckle faced kid a "young scamp."
So you're old, but...
Pitchers and catchers are reporting to camp.
Brilliant! (Ike, not Cashman.)
