I'm not a big fan of the Jim Davis-penned Garfield but your take on it was superb. If I could figure out how to enlarge it and print it, it would already be on my fridge.
According to legend, the character Bazooka Joe was taken from an earlier underground comic called "Gloryhole Gary". I'll leave it to you to figure out what happened to his eye.
