It is Spring Training for me, as well.........

Let's just begin with the good news.

Trevino is working his way back to good health.

No one has plantar fasciitis.

Now for the alarming news:

- MRI for Judge.  No structural damage observed.  But they will sit him down for a week( or two) and then re-evaluate

- MRI for Cole.  He won't start opening day.  We already heard that.

I have been asked to pass along a question for you fans;  how do you think the Yankee season will be impacted if neither judge nor Cole can play?

At least, the games don't count yet ( see 8-1 loss today ).

  1. Well Alphonso, if they both miss significant playing time this year, the team will miss the watered down playoffs and may not even play .500 ball.

  2. If that should happen, we can kiss this season goodbye

  3. The Yankees will get insurance money on Cole and Judge saving 70+ million dollars.

The Yankees will draw 2.5 million fans.

The income for the TV and streaming deals is already set so it will be unchanged.

Soto jerseys will bring in a ton of cash...

So it will be a great year!!!!!

Oh... you probably meant on the field... yeah, that won't be as good.

  7. I'm saying 69-93, as the wheels finally come off. Soto is playing in Flushing next year. Plans for "rebuilding" are announced, but nothing will really be done.

  8. Always look on the bright side of life.

    They do in North Korea:

It can't possibly be worse than that!

Where have you gone, Klondike Smith?

  11. Clarke Schmidt said yesterday that "staying healthy is basically impossible". I choose to believe he was talking about the human condition generally. Not about life on the Yankees 40 man.

  12. Rufus, did manager Harry Wolverton have anything to do with Wolverton Mountain? You know, where you don't go if you're looking for a wife.

Without Judge and Cole, the Yanks will be lucky to win 60. Soto is only one man, after all.

  13. Hard to tell where they dug up some of the players that year. Maybe the graveyard.

Gives the Yankees something to shoot for -- a 100 loss season!

Here's a fave North Korean video from many moons ago.

The singer was once Great Leader's main squeeze but then she disappeared only to reappear a few years later. There was a comment that appears to have been removed that said "Thank you Excellent Horse-like Lady! Now we have clothes!"

  15. LBJ,

I wonder if I can lure her into the honeymoon suite here: https://www.9news.com.au/world/ryugyong-hotel-north-korea-the-hotel-of-doom-that-has-never-welcomed-a-single-guest/0f1f16df-65bc-41a3-9c79-dc6d9de2afed

Looks like a hoppin' place to take an excellent horse-like lady.

And it looks like I have to revise my Yankee loss estimate upward a bit.
