And so it ends...

We are sinking like a stone, our firstbaseman just went down, and we have home field advantage through the ALCS.

Was this the plan?

  1. If it's a bad plan, then it "worked" and so will be run back again and again, much to our collective chagrin.

  2. Not to worry. Will Warren is here to save the day. And if he fails in his duty to sink the Yankees in the playoffs, I'm sure the Genius Cashman and his band of crack analysts will come up with some other boneheaded move to destroy the Yankees in the playoffs.

  4. I am going to the stadium today to sit in the rain and watch a meaningless game populated by whoever Boone feels like playing in what ever order he wants to play them.

They will play listlessly and without fundamentals.

The bullpen will serve as a showcase for the frequently injured and no better than AAAA talent. And Jasson will get time in left field as he tries in vain to displace Verdugo.

In other words... a typical game.

    Everybody hurts.

  6. Uhm, uh, you know…..it’s kinda like, uh you know. . . It’s sorta like excitedly pulling a freshly dried towel out of the dryer, smelling it and vomiting all over the rest of the load in disgust because it smells so f@cking awful. Your 2024 New York Yankees: those ain’t Tide pods you’re tossing in the washer.

  7. So, we stumble ass-backwards into the playoffs and then have a 5 day layoff…and we’ll have to face a younger team with fire in their collective belly. The only question is will booone be given a new set of excuses and gaslighting points to offer when we get blown out in our first round?

  8. If this is a championship team, baseball has really sunk to an all-time low.

  9. I'm thinking good thoughts today. A broken down old man who can't hit has become injured and can't play (and who should have retired last year). This is a blessing: it gives a much younger man with a spring in his step (and no paunch in his belly) a chance to shine. I'm looking forward to that.

    1. Rizzo was a very good player in his day, which is now long past. He hasn’t homered since coming back, and has only 2 home runs in his last 200 AB’s, We are better off without him.

For now Cabrera over Rice or LeMahieu at 1B.

    Judge CF
    Dominguez LF
    Stanton DH
    Berti 3B
    Verdugo RF
    Volpe SS
    Rice 1B
    Trevino C

Looks like they’re thinking about Rice i/o Rizzo

Why is Judge playing today? I’m sure the 40,000 suckers, er um, fans, will appreciate it. (The estimable Doug K. exempted of course)
