Dr Alphonso Says...

I played a doctor on the stage in Santa Monica.  Well, truth be told, the play closed after the first performance.   And I blew a line, but only my co-actor noticed, as she went numb and just stared at me.

So I know stuff about injuries.  Fractures, in particular.  I have had my share of them.

Here is what I learned:

    1.  A fractured bone takes 4-6 weeks to heal( (Rizzo has two fractures ).

    2.  The pain of a fracture is really severe in the early days.

While Rizzo is younger and tougher than I shall ever be, he will not be able to swing a bat at the       major league level, in a few more days.  Imagine a checked swing?

He could probably play defense, as his glove would protect him, and the injuries are  not on his throwing hand.

But maneuverability, chasing foul balls, reaching out, diving for grounders and receiving some of those off throws from infielders could be a problem.

Dr Alphonso's view is that we are going to miss Rizzo.

If we play the Astros, I may move to Asheville.

  1. Tigers hell bent on losing this game. Had it in the bag, nobody seems to be able to close it out.

  2. Fonzie,

I hear property is cheap now in Asheville. Might be a buying opportunity!

  4. Indeed, Joe. And King could have been our closer, too. But at least we got Soto for him. If we decide to get rid of Soto now...
