So ESPN pointing out just now that Milwaukee DH Gary Sanchez was the third-fastest guy, EVER, to hit 100 homers, and that scouts rated his arm at the very highest.
The announcers seemed baffled. Yeah, we'd like to know what happened, too.
I'd be floored if the Royals beat the Yanks. I cannot see the Tigers or the Indians doing it either, although they have a better shot than the Royals. Anything's possible, but the Yanks would have to really suck to loose against any of these three. The Os and Asshats were the biggest treats!
Oh and it was great the Michael Kay did the call on the Rastros game. He was so excited over the Rastros losing that he blew the call on the bases clearing double
I am 71 yrs old. My first baseball memory is Mazeroski's home run -- 1960 -- I remember a sinking feeling. I also remember the 1963 WS, in which the Yankees could not lay a glove on Dodger pitching - NYYs scored 4 runs, total, in the 4-game sweep.
So my question is: How does a team, even with Soto/Judge, beat good pitching? Can it ever be done? Has it ever been done?

Poor Metsies. This Maton guy is almost as bad as Holmes.
ReplyDeleteOnly team to stave off elimination was the Brewers…

Um, these our 2024 New York Yankees Baseball Club ... suck? They played like shit for most of the year. They might get past the CWS, but only just.
