We were lucky on that baserunning blunder by Volpe. Almost interference by Volpe. A buncha drunks out there like Sterling said. Of course with Wells up, you knew we were giving them an out
Running into outs, miss-managed bullpen, these things are coaching problems. What pisses me off even Boone is fired Cashman will hire another kiss-butt clone robot.
2024 Yankees...a little stretch of good-ish baseball (we've had that the last week or so), ended by an ugly , baffling loss (tonight), followed by a week or ten days of dismal baseball...lost confidence, bad, flailing at bats, indifferent D, brutal baserunning. It's been tje pattern all year. We'll see it really take hold tomorrow.

But he's not.
ReplyDeleteGame thread has been modified to reflect that lunacy . . .
Delete1-4, killer lineup. 5-9, hoo boy. Maybe Berti and Vertigo can do something.

ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, it will be interesting to see if Glassman maintains his hitting now that he's been moved up to a position of greater expectations
ReplyDeleteI think I speak for most here (especially JM) when I say - I sure as heck hope so.
DeleteAlready on nonsense
ReplyDeleteLooks like Yanks are playing against the Home plate Ump too
ReplyDeleteDoom. Dread. Despair. Deal with it.
ReplyDeleteThe gold glove finalist...
ReplyDeleteSchmidt got out of it - COME ON anthony!
ReplyDeleteThose were three pathetic swings by Berti
ReplyDeleteI need to find the Masters radio broadcast cuz the Guardian Dick-riding is WILD
ReplyDeleteYou can download the Audacy app
Deleterun fast, little Anthony
ReplyDeleteRe publus: Yes. I still want them to sign him but saying he's GG quality seems wrong.
ReplyDeleteTrevino....hits?
ReplyDeleteGood Golly - Trevino buys us a run - Alls Wells that ends wells
ReplyDeleteSweet
ReplyDeleteAnother FREAKING pick off? WOW
ReplyDeleteWho teaches these guys how to run???? Boone has to be held accountable. Sloppy.
ReplyDeleteSTUPID!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNothing will improve a hitters BA like a draw-in infield
ReplyDeleteYup. But give Trevino credit for hitting it hard, then damn him for getting picked off, which cost us a run
DeleteGleyber School of baserunning lol
ReplyDeleteAnd... shitty baserunning. Trevino does suck, after all.
ReplyDeleteNobody teaches them
ReplyDeleteOMG!! Again?!?!?
ReplyDeleteWe let them off the hook
ReplyDeleteThat's a high school play. Verdugo was supposed to take off. Wasn't he? Wasn't he?
ReplyDeleteWondering myself if that was a set play or not.
DeleteIs Trevino a Free agent this winter? Can we get rid of him?
ReplyDeleteHe was set to be re-signed to a five year deal after that rbi single BUT that offer has been reduced to two years after the pick-off
DeleteHe’s already signed for 2025
DeleteAnd Billy Martin spins like an auger in his box... WTF is with this team?
ReplyDeleteThe fundamentals are not stressed. Players are not held accountable. Boone wants to be a friend but not a coach.
DeleteBoone should be watching at home on a couch
DeletePlayers with cement legs and/or a soiled diaper for brains should never be given a green light to steal a base. ESPECIALLY in games this important.
ReplyDeleteThis team is both the best and worst team on the field
ReplyDeleteWhich is why they are just a bit over .500 since early summer.
DeleteDamn! Boyd after two inning 43 pitches, Schmidt 21. I'd be nervous as hell if I were an Indian fan....
ReplyDeleteWatched Soto bust it up the 1B line on a routine grounder.
ReplyDeleteWatched Stanton loaf.
If Stanton gets paid $28 million, Soto SHOULD get $56 million/year.
All that, plus a Gold Glove nomination, too!
WB Mason blew that one.
ReplyDeleteYou suck Berti
ReplyDeleteDAMN!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, this game is over.
ReplyDeleteUghLee
ReplyDeleteSchmidt is not great but who else do we have? Not a deep starting staff...
ReplyDeleteSchmidt isnt getting those border pitches he better do somem else
ReplyDeleteGil warming up yet?
ReplyDeleteGleyber doesn't do what every other second baseman in pro ball does...keep tag on
ReplyDeletePut fuckin Rizzo in
ReplyDeleteBye-Bye Berti
ReplyDeleteIt’s remarkable we’re only down one run…
ReplyDeleteNO NOT TIM FUCKIN HILL
ReplyDeleteMidges?
ReplyDeleteHe pulled a muscle. Something about Cleveland's mound is jinxed for the Yankees during the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteMayza
ReplyDeleteAll their weakneses exposed
ReplyDeleteTrevino is a complete waste
ReplyDeleteOw is the time to put Rizzo in and get rid of Berti - but is Boooone gonna do that?
ReplyDeletePathetic
ReplyDeleteWould have been nice to avoid that DP - that would have scored a run.
ReplyDeleteIs there a judge’ian blast in their bones?
ReplyDeleteMight as well be 30-1.
ReplyDeleteBoone has got to pinch hit Wells to lead off next inning.
ReplyDeleteAnd now sit Berti and get a bat in Rizzo’s hands
ReplyDeleteBut it all might be too little too late
ReplyDeleteHuge spot for the Judge.
ReplyDeleteClutch!!!!
ReplyDeleteHoly shit.
ReplyDeletewowowowowowowow
ReplyDeleteBig Bones!!!’
ReplyDeleteALL RISE!!!
ReplyDeleteMaking a postseason name for himself.
ReplyDeleteLate and clutch. That's what he needs to do.
ReplyDeleteWe need a back to back belly to bely here
ReplyDeleteGlasssssss!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWowowowowowow!!!
ReplyDeleteHoly moly.
ReplyDeleteBACK TO BACK BELLY TO BELLY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteF@ck’N YES
ReplyDeleteCleveland wieners
ReplyDeleteYou hang it, playoff G bangs it
ReplyDeleteMore runs, please.
ReplyDeleteClase is blase
ReplyDeleteI FUCKIN GAVE UP WATCHING AND MISSED THE COMEBACK!!!!
ReplyDeleteHang in! You never know...
DeleteBreath-holding time.
ReplyDeleteJudge…
ReplyDeleteGet thru this inning, Kahnle.
ReplyDeleteBACK 2 BACK BELLY 2 BELLY WOOWOWOWOWOW
ReplyDeleteRizzo! Comes in for D and gives up the double. Rizz should have mad that play. Damn.
ReplyDeleteJesus.
ReplyDeleteBad feeling after the Rizzo failure
ReplyDeleteRizzo looked like a 40 year old guy on a cold night there
ReplyDeleteWhy can’t we have nice things?
ReplyDeleteAnd the defensive replacement can't make the play.
ReplyDeleteDon't mind a walk here.
ReplyDeletethose were both strikes
ReplyDeleteHow many times can you ask for a 4 out save? Rolling the dice too much.
ReplyDeleteLast one was too close to take, anyway. Ump shouldn't have rewarded him.
ReplyDeleteWeaving 4 more outs
ReplyDeleteAgreed mlk
ReplyDeleteUse the force, Luke.
ReplyDeleteThis can't end well
ReplyDeleteFry is fried.
ReplyDeletePILE. ON.
ReplyDeleteYes please.
DeleteRun Volpe! Move the runner!
ReplyDeleteOK now don't get picked off
ReplyDeleteMaybe this is one of those wild pitch innings
ReplyDeleteVolpe!!! Knocks the ball out!
ReplyDeleteBad baserunning again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got lucky on that play.
ReplyDeleteWat!
ReplyDeleteThey SUCK but it worked out. Now they score on a wild pitch
ReplyDeleteV Rod ahh Play
ReplyDeleteMust get that run in. Bad at-bat by Wells.
ReplyDeleteGod Damn it Wells
ReplyDeleteKnew Wells would K. He’s useless.
ReplyDeleteWells.
ReplyDeleteThe evidence is clear. Wells can't hit a fastball up.
ReplyDeleteDon't need any more, Boonie
ReplyDeleteStill can get a run on a sac fly.
ReplyDeleteFeels like they have to score or all the momentum shifts.
ReplyDeleteWe were lucky on that baserunning blunder by Volpe. Almost interference by Volpe. A buncha drunks out there like Sterling said. Of course with Wells up, you knew we were giving them an out
ReplyDeleteWells should have bunted. Safety squeeze. Remember those?
ReplyDeleteWild pitch. We do it all the time
ReplyDeleteLove those insurance runs.
ReplyDeleteThat’ll do Gleyber. Would you rather have Trevino with a bat in his hand In that situation?
ReplyDeleteThey should re-sign Torres :)
ReplyDeleteI don’t ever wanna see Trevino in the lineup again. Ever again.
ReplyDeleteSo, an interesting story on climate change tonight on PBS News Hour. Hope you all caught it
ReplyDeleteIs climate change the reason that Trevino sucks so much?
DeleteRizzo E3. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteEverybody's beating the Rizz tonight.
ReplyDeleteFucking Rizzo WTF
ReplyDeleteRizzo playing like he expected to have the FULL day off
ReplyDeleteMy sincerest apologies for insisting that Rizzo get back in the game
ReplyDeleteWho'd a thunk it, Dick?
ReplyDeleteBooooone should’ve had Rizzo start, and put Bertie in for defensive in the late innings
DeleteFor fuck’s sake, Rizzo.
ReplyDeletePlaying like the Cub he was
ReplyDeleteDP!! Weaver
ReplyDeleteWell that was good
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteGIDP!
ReplyDeleteI will Rizzo a big break here - playing with jammed up fingers. If not for playoffs he would not be playing. He is a tough gamer and I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteArticle in The Athletic comparing Weaver's pitches last year and this. Pretty incredible.
ReplyDeleteDouble doesn't help much. Still only need one out.
ReplyDeleteNot one of Weaver's better outings
ReplyDeleteRe Rizzo - then blame Boone for putting Rizzo in a position to fail.
ReplyDeleteCould not agree more!
DeleteBoone is a dope asking for all these 4 out saves. He just does not get it.
ReplyDeleteYep. Used Weaver too much too often.
ReplyDeleteFuck
ReplyDeleteBitty warned us. And you didn't listen. I warned us and I didn't listen.
ReplyDeleteWhoops on Weaver
ReplyDeleteFuck Boone.
ReplyDeleteHe throws a change up?
ReplyDeleteHoly shit
ReplyDeleteWell now we get to see Holmes in the 10th for the save or hold.....
Given our other options...i dont think he had a choice....Warm up stroman for extras
ReplyDeleteWhy are these announcers yelling and going crazy over that home run? They were not at all effusive over the two Yankees homers.
ReplyDeleteTold you! the amount of Guardian d***sucking theyre doing is incredible
DeleteSo basically it's over. We're doomed
ReplyDeleteLost location on fastball. Noel ruled it out. Sat breaking ball. Or, he's tipping.
ReplyDeleteOne way or another, very good guess
Has Cleveland cornered the market on old timey fat guys?
ReplyDeleteWe'd be better of with Shirley Chissom
ReplyDeleteYou meant Jizz Chasm
DeleteThe Manfred Man was not available for comment...
ReplyDeleteCome on Tony
ReplyDeleteBiggest at~bat of little Tony’s young life
ReplyDeleteDoom.
ReplyDeleteThe Clevelindians walk it off here
ReplyDeleteDoom. Thy name is Holmes
ReplyDeleteWhy can't we play small ball?????????
ReplyDeleteNever get off the boat.
ReplyDeleteAs Han says all the time in Star Wars - "I've got a bad feeling about this."
ReplyDeleteBye bye.
ReplyDeleteFuck
ReplyDeleteAroldis Holmes.
ReplyDeleteGood night.
Fuck Boone.
Whoops.
ReplyDeleteHuge opportunity flushed by boone
ReplyDeleteBoone is the "relaxed fit" of managers.
DeleteNever expected a sweep, even in going into the bottom of the ninth.
ReplyDeleteThat better be their last win of the series cant stand these fuckin clowns
ReplyDeleteI hate this team.

ReplyDeleteThe Master said the "Indians" win.
ReplyDeleteHe has been calling them the Indians in every game. I love John!
DeleteAlmost as good as his nostalgia for "Commander" cigarettes.
Deletemik, Don't we all?
DeleteThis loss on Boone
ReplyDeleteYes. Yes it is.
DeleteCleveland in 7
ReplyDeleteTonight feels pivotal. Why not 6?

This team couldn't beat either remaining NL team, anyway. It's just as well.
ReplyDeleteStarting Trevino was a gross mistake - and Berti too. He was resting Rizzo? Seriously? After the guy was one of the few hot bats? What a waste .
ReplyDelete
