When Stanton steals..
When dolphins fly,
When nuns wear heels,
When lakes go dry…
Then Stanton steals!
When box scores lie,
When kings cut deals,
When fans ask, “Why?”
Then Stanton steals!
When Royals cry,
“He has no wheels.”
It’s time to try…
And Stanton steals!
Excellent wordsmithing.
ReplyDeleteIt was the "steal heard 'round the world." Who'd a thunk it? I'm so glad to have been alive to see it.
Can he do it again?
Yankeeland expects everyone to do their duty.
ReplyDeleteAs does Yankton, formerly Yankville and. a long time ago, the homely hamlet of Yank.
ReplyDeletelittle bobby jenkins
ReplyDeleteof south torsion, ny says:
please mr judge
please hit the ball
hit it really far
over the war
Nice start -
ReplyDeleteI'll say. C'MON, JUDGE!
ReplyDeleteWell, he didn't strike out.
ReplyDelete25 tons of hardened glass, rolls on no ordinary hammy, the hardest part, big man of hardened glass!
ReplyDeleteBig man of hardened glass behind old Boonie's ass. (Debbie Harry rules)
DeleteDP MVP.
ReplyDeleteJudge hit into the most double plays in the league this year? I can believe it.
Ugh
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteNow Judge is getting more outs than at bats?
ReplyDeletePoor Judge! Guy needs something to dunk in for him to get him off the schneid.
ReplyDeleteDuque, is that an ABC song you're rewriting?
ReplyDeleteNow we'll see what Cole is made of.
ReplyDeleteWe got the April -May Judge for the playoffs, instead of the June through September Judge.
ReplyDeleteWhat is the over/under inning for Cole? Great to have him go to the 7th but my guess is 5 1/3...
ReplyDeleteCould it be that the Anti-Flouncy has shown up?
ReplyDeleteThe good Flouncy
ReplyDeleteWe should be so blessed he goes 5 1/3.
ReplyDeleteS T A N T O N !!!
ReplyDeleteMan of Glass!
ReplyDeleteDoes someone need to hit a triple to score Giancarlo? Is he all run out after yesterday?
ReplyDeleteThat would have been an in the park hr for most anyone else
DeleteZzzzzzaj
ReplyDeleteThey let this guy get away. More awful clutch hitting. The Judge at-bat was really a killer.
ReplyDeleteGood work, A.F.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Let him get away.
ReplyDeleteShut it down!!!
ReplyDeleteFlouncy getting some swings and misses tonight. It doesn't mean anything.
ReplyDeleteHe's still gonna stink up Kaufman, and we'll lose. Just pointing out the swinging strikes.
Wow. We just do NOT have a good-hitting team.
ReplyDeleteNope!
DeleteVolpe is never going to become the great base-stealer, is he?
ReplyDeleteI guess not…you’ve actually got to try to steal. Seems like Volpe stops running around June 1.
DeleteW.B Mason got a hit…
ReplyDeleteYay!!!!!
ReplyDeleteGleyber!
ReplyDeleteWho? Who are those players in the grey uniforms?? Cannot be our Yankees!?
ReplyDeleteNice!!!!!! Another run!
ReplyDeleteThey're hitting, after all. Sequential singles works.
ReplyDeleteWe’ll need three more runs to win
ReplyDeleteHoss can you make a few calls and make those additional three runs happen, please? THX
Delete2 runs won’t be enough.
ReplyDeleteSee above
DeleteAllergic to the big inning, we are.
ReplyDeleteShould we assume Cole will ill intentionally walk Pham if he faces him again?
ReplyDeleteNope
DeletePhew
ReplyDeleteFlouncey's got his jag on.
ReplyDeleteCole is pass my 5 1/3 guess. He's doing a great job this game!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteJudge. IAN double!!!!
ReplyDeleteNice double by Judge.
ReplyDeleteSolid hit this time for Judge
ReplyDeleteI'm watching bits of the WNBA final during commercials. Refs flat out don't call traveling in pro basketball anymore, do they?
ReplyDeleteWells just hit into a productive out that advanced to runner? Who the fuck does he think he is!?
ReplyDeleteWat??!!
ReplyDeleteS T a n T o n !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWorthless with another RBI.
ReplyDeleteStanton always a threat to steal.
ReplyDeleteBlondie if the reference by the way, you irascible curmudgeons.

Fashion and Rock n Roll icon!
Off the fourth album. I stopped at the third. The disco song lost me. Heart of Glass, that is.
DeleteWho is this guy wearing Stanton’s number for the Yankees? He’s pretty good, and a marked improvement over Giancarlo.
ReplyDeleteInsurance runs. Above Average thinks 3 will win. Hope he's right!
ReplyDeleteGreat time for a double steal here.
ReplyDeleteDamn.
ReplyDeleteA good AB by Volpe turned into 2 outs…
ReplyDeleteCritical half inning coming up for Cole
ReplyDeleteIt’s so much more entertaining listening to Sterling and synching the tv to the radio than it is listening to “and that’s that” Costas and Ron Darling.
ReplyDeleteOh boy
ReplyDeleteNot tv coverage here for me - just the mlb app listening to John and Suzyn
ReplyDeleteHey CLAY HOLMES is warming up
ReplyDeleteWhat's going on??
ReplyDeleteNow a brawl
ReplyDeleteVolpe comes up Big! Jazz need to stay cool...
ReplyDeleteWhy wasn’t Brett on the field?
ReplyDeleteDon't worry they'll interview him for the next three innings
DeleteGreat DP. And the Royals decide to punk it up. Ridiculous that Costas is going off on Chisholm, as if he had offended all of Kansas City to the core with his "Aw, they got lucky" remark.
ReplyDeleteJohn thinks this is all nonsense. He’s said that about 4 or 5 times already.
ReplyDeleteI agree with him. That was bullshit.
DeleteCole looking like he was gonna beat Garcia's ass
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteBiggest out of the year, here...
ReplyDeleteCole needs to abandon the cutter next yr
ReplyDeleteGet out of this inning!!!
ReplyDeleteCole is emotional. That could be a problem
ReplyDeleteF@kkkkkk
ReplyDeleteSee
ReplyDeleteThe princess felt the pea.
DeleteOh dear.
ReplyDeleteAw nuts! The big, 0-2 meatball. Disgraceful.
ReplyDeleteOkay. Okay. That's enough of our ace. But not Aroldis. Please no Aroldis Holmes.
ReplyDeleteThe almost fight got Cole all pumped up. Bad!
ReplyDeleteThat's the problem of that fake-fight - takes Cole out of his rhythm.
ReplyDeleteAnd now the Yankee killer perez
ReplyDeleteThis is the moment…
ReplyDeleteDammit, Wells!
ReplyDeleteNow I’m emotional
ReplyDeleteWells misses the pop up. It's another meltdown sign
ReplyDeleteWells blew that one.
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!
ReplyDeleteJust gave them another breath…
ReplyDeleteWhew!
ReplyDeleteAll right, Flouncy comes up big.
ReplyDeleteStill regret that run. Oh, well.
ReplyDeleteNine more outs.
ReplyDeleteSome runs here buries them.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
DeleteNeed two more runs
ReplyDeleteIt's Zerpie again!
ReplyDeleteThe Royals have 4 good left-handed pitchers in the pen. Must be nice.
ReplyDeleteNow it’s Clayber
ReplyDeleteVery bad call.
ReplyDeleteHorseshit call. They don't need any help, ump.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I think AA is right. Two more runs.
ReplyDeleteNot even close to a strike.
ReplyDeleteWhy the fuck that punk ass royal keep looking at the dugout....they don't give af bout you
ReplyDeleteWow
ReplyDeleteI just spit up my first solid food (and that was a long time ago)
ReplyDeleteOMG! Thank goodness for that stiff KC wind blowing in.
ReplyDeleteSusan should interview the wind after the game. MVP
ReplyDeleteGreat!
DeleteCostas: "On a different night, this might very well be a tie game."
ReplyDeleteI love you, Bob...but go fuck yourself. Yeah, no winds in the midwest in October. Un-heard of! What a freaky development!
STOP IT. STOP IT. THAT'S ENOUGH OF COLE. GOOD BOY. TIME FOR A NAP.
ReplyDeleteBOONE, I WILL FUCKING SHIT IN YOUR FUCKING DRIVEWAY.
With every moment the Yankees are ahead...Costas dies a little more inside
ReplyDeleteSix more outs.
ReplyDeleteYeah, and if the wind hadn't been blowing in in Phoenix, in 2001, Shane Spencer has a two-run homer and the Yanks go home to a ticker tape parade just two months after 9/11. Sorry, Bob. Sports doesn't follow your script.
ReplyDeleteThis is where Judge should stop pretending and be himself…
ReplyDeleteYeah, that fly got me reaching for the paddles.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't let Cole pitch the 8th. The reliever should get a clean inning
ReplyDeleteBut I agree: enough of Cole. Good job, get ready for the next round.
ReplyDeleteCostas is getting flamed online for his obvious bias toward the Yankees.
ReplyDeleteI guess a lot of people think he's doing a terrible job. I don't get it. He's kinda goofy sometimes, but he doesn't bother me one bit. To each his own.
It's Smoltz I can't stand.
ReplyDeleteJazz has a chance to turn those boos into salty tears of despair. But he won't. What sort of ballplayer is named Jazz?
ReplyDeleteFuck all those parents who give their children embarrassing stupid names.
It would be embarrassing if his parents had spelled it Jhazz.
DeleteBoy, the Liberty is booting this game. Had a huge lead early, gave it all back, now bumbling through OT.
ReplyDeleteChisholm really embracing the role of villain.
ReplyDeleteSee? Told you. Jazz could have been the next Willie Mays were it not for the weight of his horrible name holding him down.
ReplyDeleteI like Jazz...he's like Evil Didi
ReplyDeleteFor a "loose carefree" guy Jazz sure is sure as hell hitting an uptight .131! But it aint bothering any. The boos. Oh yeah, those aren't "boos" those are "Lous"... Pulling Cole, don't like it.
ReplyDeleteI wish he would hit more.
ReplyDeleteYep
DeleteMistake to take Stanton out of the game. He could still be very needed.
ReplyDeleteHolmes! Aaarggghhhhhh!
ReplyDeleteIf I were KC I would love to see Holmes right now.
ReplyDeleteHe seems good with this setup role, though.
ReplyDeleteWhere the fuck was that pitch? Boone ought to be on the ump. Still, got the out.
ReplyDeleteOh lord
ReplyDeleteOoooo say can you CLAYYYYY!
ReplyDeleteMuch better as the setup guy.
ReplyDeleteThree more outs.
ReplyDeleteHolmes did so well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3 outs to go
ReplyDeleteThe Clay Holmes redemption tour continues.
ReplyDeleteJohnny Wad for the 9th? Man this is stressful
ReplyDeleteWait, who is that man, and what has he done with Clay Holmes? (Not, you know, that we really care. Cut up his body and threw it in the East River? Well, we all have to go sometime.)
ReplyDeleteWill Holmes pitch the 9th?????
ReplyDeleteVolpe just getting robbed in this game.
ReplyDeleteWhat does the brain(less)trust have against Oswaldo?
ReplyDeleteYankees simply refuse to bury opponents until the absolute last second.
ReplyDeleteDon't chase, Gleyber!
ReplyDeleteMaybe we won’t need any more runz
ReplyDeleteDamn. Well, I guess that was the wind, right?
ReplyDeleteGave it a ride.
ReplyDeleteNow - two runs need to hold up....
JM, I used to be a fan of Costas, but he doesn’t do much for me anymore. He just doesn’t hold my interest, for whatever reason. I think he sounds bored sometimes — although not as bad as Al Michaels is now on football. And his call on the final out of last night’s game — “and that’s that,” followed by seven or eight seconds of silence— just seemed bizarre to me. It’s a 1-run playoff game, not a 13-2 game against the White Sox in May.
ReplyDeleteHe's not as good as he used to be. But I don't even register most of what any announcer says. They all talk too much. It's like the constant noise at the stadium.
DeleteIf Weaver is our closer next year, they have to start playing Dream Weaver when he comes in from the bullpen.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great idea.
DeleteYes….
ReplyDeletePerez is KC's best hitter...
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe bullpen has not given up any runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's it!!!
Yankees WIN
YES YES YES!!!!!! WE DID IT!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYankees Win!!!
ReplyDeleteok
ReplyDeleteWe am advancing!!!
ReplyDeleteTHuuuUHUHUH-AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH-UHUHUH Yankees WON A POSTSEASON SERIES!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteWARBLE MASTER!!! WARBLE!!!
ReplyDeleteThe magic number is 8…
ReplyDeleteHAHA True Dat.
DeleteWell. How do ya like that?
ReplyDeleteI like it Mel! I like it!
DeleteIt feels so nice!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWeaver absolutely filthy.
ReplyDeleteSuh-weet!
ReplyDeleteAnd the green grass grows all around and around, and the green grass grows all around.
ReplyDeleteWe are being teed up by the Juju gods...
ReplyDeleteTake the cannoli...
ReplyDeleteIt was a lot of fun to hear John do a series-ending warble. I think John is loving the chance to do the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteCostas making very nice comments about the guys he's worked with.
ReplyDeleteHe didn’t Cistas the win!
ReplyDeleteCostas, thank you very much
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was a nice tribute. Wonder if he's stepping back.
ReplyDelete
