Statement on Yankeetruth Social

From our own Carl J. Weitz...

The team may have lost the game yesterday, but there's a bright side! Most people didn't realize it, but the Yankees proclaimed "FAN LIBERATION DAY." All non-Yankees fans will be charged an additional 25% on tickets and concessions. THIS WILL QUICKLY LOWER THE PRICES WE PAY and enable Hal to spend heavily from this moment on for free agents. No more losing. We're going to be rich. MAKE THE YANKEES GREAT AGAIN!!!

  1. But HAL said the visiting team will pay the 25%!?

  2. Tonight, if they're smart, they'll pull the usual rain postponement bullshit (even if it ain't raining). Or if they play, they'll get their butts handed to them again by a fundamentally superior team. The first two games of this series were kind of like a playoff preview. If they make the playoffs (and I think they will), they'll get embarrassed first chance they get.

They were fortunate they didn't get perfect game'd last night. If it was later in the year, they might have been.

As soon as Volpe hit that homer, you knew it was over. Because it emptied the bases and allowed the pitcher to kind of "reset". Whenever someone hits a homer to make it close (but not tied with only a couple outs to go), have you ever seen the offense complete the comeback? I wish he'd hit a single there, then you hope somebody hits one out.

  7. I had a manic girlfriend once. Sometimes she was a lot of fun - really crazy fun - and other times.....I'm lucky to be alive.

  10. I don't even care if they win. Game already feels like a loss.

  11. They need to lose the whole group of middle relievers

  12. It’s too bad there weren’t any quality relievers available in fee agency this winter.

  14. You don't want to be winning games by giving up 7 runs. that's not sustainable and it NEVER works in the post season.

  15. Didn't we get some guy named Williams to be the closer? Methinks bad news is coming. Aye, I'm feelin' a bit daft....
