The 2026 Yankee lineup, if Trent Grisham elects to stay

The Yankees have extended him a $22 million qualifying offer. If he takes it, here's where we could be on Opening Day.

cf Trent Grisham
rf Aaron Judge
1b Ben Rice
dh Giancarlo Stanton
2b Jazz Chisholm
lf Jasson Dominguez
c Austin Wells
ss Jose Cabalero
3b Ryan McMahon

Are you as excited as I am!?

  1. I can see it now: Domínguez walks, wells strikes out, cabellero single puts runners on the corners, McMahon grounds into double play.

  2. Thanks for the public service, Duque. This will save erstwhile fans from spending time and money to watch such a loser lineup.

  3. Our biggest hope now the runaway greed of major-league owners. C'mon, guys! Blow up your multi-billion-dollar industry! Let's begin the world anew!

  4. I am truthfully unable to say if I am as excited as E.D. because I have no way of confidently knowing just where on the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign standardized excitement scale assessment rating system he
    comes in at.
Until this is known I will not be able confidently measure the exit veto of my excitement level (so to, uh, uhm, you know . . . speak).
That said, the coffee this morning has been plentiful and tasty AND soon homemade cinnamon buns will be in the oven.
So that kinda makes it an Above Average Cinnamon Bun-day Sunday!

  5. Bluntly, not a championship lineup.

  6. They need to secure a starting catcher who can hit over .220 and throw out more than 19%. The only metric he ranked well up in was framing at 96%. The average MLB 2025 CS% was 29%

  7. The above CS numbers are from Baseball Savant.

  8. Ben Rice lost the utilility player Silver Slugger award to Zach McKinstry in the biggest highway robbery/ anti-Yankees ripoff ever:

Zach McKinstry takes home the utility Silver Slugger. Here’s how he lined up against Ben Rice:

    HR: Rice
    R: Rice
    RBI: Rice
    BB%: Rice
    K%: Rice
    ISO: Rice
    AVG: McKinstry (by .004)
    OBP: Rice
    SLG: Rice
    OPS: Rice
    wOBA: Rice
    xwOBA: Rice
