So, do they put Lombard’s plaque in Monument Park this weekend, or wait a week or so just to give his family a chance to clear their schedule and be on hand?
I mute God Bless America. This is what I understand the fans at the Stadium were singing; "God bless Cashman, a bald headed geek. He does nothing and makes alot, so to speak. He picks up alot of stiffs and when the Yankees need contatc the most, they whiff.

Hopefully Will Warren picks up where he left off last time. But against this Cards lineup, it ain't a good matchup for him.
ReplyDeleteWho is playing with the lights?
ReplyDeleteBoom, boom, out go the lights
DeleteI see Garcia has already caught the drunken baserunning contagion.
ReplyDeleteSeems like Lombard has already turned more double plays than Volpe did in a whole year.

ReplyDeleteHave to wait to see if he gets into the Jacob ellsbury wing of the rehab center.
DeleteAnother game with non-existent offense.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that I need a funeral suit.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you're not the guest of honor.
DeleteYogi told me he wouldn't show up unless I did for his.
DeleteSo far, Warren holding his own.
ReplyDeleteI hear the sounds of creaking, like the ceiling is about to collapse.
ReplyDeleteWell, that’s that.
ReplyDeleteAnd there goes the ball game!
ReplyDeleteALL-STAR center fielder
ReplyDeleteCan we all agree that Grisham has lost some range?
ReplyDeleteIf I was managing, Spencer Jones would be in CF.
DeleteL o s t ?
DeleteHold it you went with no range…
Delete3-0 Cards, pretty much curtains
ReplyDeleteGrisham is slower than an old lady.
ReplyDeleteThe other day, I saw ex-Yankee Carlos Narvaez run a lot faster than Grisham.
ReplyDeleteJazz might consider running hard all the way down the line next time
ReplyDeleteIn another uniform
DeleteJazz doesn't play hard all the time. Only when he's interested & motivated.
ReplyDeleteHey, Lombard with a hit!
ReplyDeleteAnd Wells with the twin killing....
ReplyDeleteHell, what a terrible game. This is like a goddammed funeral.
ReplyDeleteWhat an anemic impotent team…
ReplyDeleteThat was impressive. The Stadium grounds crew is way better than the baseball team.
ReplyDeleteKilled that rally…
ReplyDeleteHell, this offense looks worse than when The Martian was here.
ReplyDeleteLet’s see if the rookie has been corrupted by the can’t hit with runners in scoring position bug.
ReplyDeleteHe’s officially a Yankee.
ReplyDeleteNo joy in Mudville…
ReplyDeletei LOVE this team !!!!
ReplyDeleteRays & Red Sox fans do, too.
ReplyDeleteAs boone would say, this team needs to score more than one point.
ReplyDeleteSix walks, four hits. One run. Unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteSavages in the box, my ass.
ReplyDeleteNot only can Grisham not play CF, he also can't lead-off. This is ridiculous already.
ReplyDeleteBut hey: we DID manage to get all three of our first basemen-DHs into the game!
ReplyDeleteNext level managing!
DeleteAnd both non-hitting catchers!
ReplyDeleteFor some unholy reason, Boone is married to leading off Grisham & married to Grisham in CF.
ReplyDeleteStolen from the interwebs:
DeleteTrent Grisham when batting lead off this season:
.184/.294/.324 (.618 OPS)
CC Sabathia in 2008: .627 OPS
Game thread, only a moron would take Garcia Jr. out and end up with Ali Sanchez as the tieing run with two out in the ninth.

ReplyDeleteNuthin’ sez complete ineptitude like Ali Sanchez taking a called strike three on the last pitch of the game.
