  1. Hopefully Will Warren picks up where he left off last time. But against this Cards lineup, it ain't a good matchup for him.

  2. I see Garcia has already caught the drunken baserunning contagion.

  3. Seems like Lombard has already turned more double plays than Volpe did in a whole year.

  4. So, do they put Lombard’s plaque in Monument Park this weekend, or wait a week or so just to give his family a chance to clear their schedule and be on hand?

    1. Have to wait to see if he gets into the Jacob ellsbury wing of the rehab center.

  5. Another game with non-existent offense.

  6. I was thinking that I need a funeral suit.

    1. As long as you're not the guest of honor.

    2. Yogi told me he wouldn't show up unless I did for his.

  7. I hear the sounds of creaking, like the ceiling is about to collapse.

  8. Can we all agree that Grisham has lost some range?

  9. The other day, I saw ex-Yankee Carlos Narvaez run a lot faster than Grisham.

  10. Jazz might consider running hard all the way down the line next time

  11. Jazz doesn't play hard all the time. Only when he's interested & motivated.

  12. Hell, what a terrible game. This is like a goddammed funeral.

  13. That was impressive. The Stadium grounds crew is way better than the baseball team.

  14. Hell, this offense looks worse than when The Martian was here.

  15. Let’s see if the rookie has been corrupted by the can’t hit with runners in scoring position bug.

  16. As boone would say, this team needs to score more than one point.

  17. Six walks, four hits. One run. Unacceptable.

  18. Not only can Grisham not play CF, he also can't lead-off. This is ridiculous already.

    ReplyDelete
  19. But hey: we DID manage to get all three of our first basemen-DHs into the game!

  20. For some unholy reason, Boone is married to leading off Grisham & married to Grisham in CF.

    1. Stolen from the interwebs:

Trent Grisham when batting lead off this season:

      .184/.294/.324 (.618 OPS)

CC Sabathia in 2008: .627 OPS

  21. Game thread, only a moron would take Garcia Jr. out and end up with Ali Sanchez as the tieing run with two out in the ninth.

  22. I mute God Bless America. This is what I understand the fans at the Stadium were singing; "God bless Cashman, a bald headed geek. He does nothing and makes alot, so to speak. He picks up alot of stiffs and when the Yankees need contatc the most, they whiff.

  23. Nuthin’ sez complete ineptitude like Ali Sanchez taking a called strike three on the last pitch of the game.
