See how the Sux had the bases loaded with no outs and managed to plate a pair?? That's how you do it. That's baseball. Not the Yankees solo homerun bullshittery.
I'll agree with Schlittler but, due to the injury to Giolito, it will either be Early or Harrison for the BloSox. Neither is a household name. Early came up in September.
If Rice takes over at first next year, who's the catcher? Not Wells or Escarra. Maybe one of those guys we traded because we had so many, many catchers.
Sorry to hear Winwarb. One of my Labs died not long ago. He was my best friend. His sister is 11 1/2 and it's sad to see her age. Losing our dog family friends is like losing a child.
Dodgers have taken the lead, and are clearly the better team. BUT...doesn't hurt that the ump calls every single thing that Yamamoto throws up there a strike. I swear, they must have called 9 out of 10 pitches out of the box, strikes. He may be in trouble next year, if they're really going to the robo umps.
Almost bizarre how sluggishly and badly the Reds are playing, even though they're only down 3-2. Their fielding is now reaching Metsian proportions of ineptitude. I guess just getting to the postseason was enough for them.

Off to a flying start. Sort of.
ReplyDeleteRICE !!!
ReplyDeleteHuh. Think Rice should've played yesterday? I dunno...
ReplyDeleteGee, Hoss, why would you say that?
ReplyDeleteCome on now, Hoss. You’re not blaming Boone and his ManageCom cronies, are yah?
ReplyDeleteThat was an elite double play.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, but Eduardo sounds so biased for the Red Sox to my ears. Maybe I'm imagining it.
ReplyDeleteOh this is going swimmingly.
ReplyDeleteRoRooooooo
ReplyDeleteI like to load the bases for the top of the order.
ReplyDeleteChisholm? First? Why?
ReplyDeleteBunt
DeleteGeeze Rodon instantly loses focus when something goes wrong
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that we are a fundamentally shitty team.
ReplyDeleteYes, that may hurt our chances
DeleteOk THAT was a great dp!
ReplyDeleteTime to start making plans for the off-season.
ReplyDeleteThey can make a sweet double play like that, but they can't field a bunt. Aaargh.
ReplyDeleteHa-luckily
DeleteSee how the Sux had the bases loaded with no outs and managed to plate a pair?? That's how you do it. That's baseball. Not the Yankees solo homerun bullshittery.
ReplyDeleteNot to be confused with Bull Schlittlery
DeleteOr Bull Durhammy.
DeleteCora managing
ReplyDeleteok, the Boone Morrison photo is deeply disturbing. NOT to jinx anything, but what would the pitching matchups be tomorrow if the world doesn't end?
ReplyDeleteThank You, Bit.
DeleteIt would be Schlittler vs Pedro
I'll agree with Schlittler but, due to the injury to Giolito, it will either be Early or Harrison for the BloSox. Neither is a household name. Early came up in September.
DeleteBellinger showing some helmet hating emotion
ReplyDeleteDouble steal? Who are these guys?
ReplyDeleteBello gone already?
Bellinger can't get the run in?
What the hell?
shit on a shingle
ReplyDeleteFuckendoodle.
ReplyDeleteIf Rice takes over at first next year, who's the catcher? Not Wells or Escarra. Maybe one of those guys we traded because we had so many, many catchers.
ReplyDeleteSmall ball Judge
ReplyDeleteLooks like a line drive in the box score.
ReplyDelete(Until they change it to an error, anyway.)
ReplyDeleteFinally!
ReplyDeleteSo, which reliever blows the game? We should have a betting pool.
ReplyDeleteSomeone pass me a cudgel…
ReplyDeleteWhy not Gil in for relief?
ReplyDeleteBoone will signal for Nestor.
DeleteOh yeah - forgot
DeleteThere's no way that Boone and the bullpen don't blow this game.
ReplyDeleteRice
ReplyDeleteBen Rice. Thank God he wasn't in the lineup last night
ReplyDeleteAnd Boone didn’t leave Fried in the game when he went out to pull him
ReplyDeleteStanton is not hot and we need him.
ReplyDeleteJazz can really be awful
ReplyDeleteHe is more than he's not.
ReplyDeleteCora bringing in a new pitcher for Volpe. An unnecessary move.
ReplyDeleteSo Volpesque.
ReplyDeleteTerrible AB, AV
ReplyDeleteGood night. I'll save my disappointment for the morning.
ReplyDeleteAwful, little league style AB by Volpe
ReplyDeleteI haven’t felt, at one moment since last night’s game ended, any anxiety or stress about tonight. I know they’re going to lose.
ReplyDeleteOh, boy. To the bullpen.
ReplyDeleteCruz. Uh-huh, uh-huh.
ReplyDeleteCruz ? The beginning of the end
ReplyDeleteOn a completely different note, I had a shit September. One of our cats and our miniature dachshund both passed away.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your losses, Winnie
DeleteThat’s awful Winny - my condolences
DeleteSorry to hear Winwarb. One of my Labs died not long ago. He was my best friend. His sister is 11 1/2 and it's sad to see her age. Losing our dog family friends is like losing a child.
DeleteSo sorry to hear that, Winnie. Sending condolences. I prefer cats and dogs to people most of the time.
DeleteI know a lot is going on but I need to say that Sogards hair annoys me.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about that, WW.
ReplyDeleteTerrible AB, MVP
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine minor league player Judge becomes in the playoffs.
ReplyDeleteWILLIAMS ?!?
ReplyDeleteHey…his ERA in the regular season was under…uh….5… it must be time to go wash my face in the toilet bowl
DeleteWho was that pitcher?!
ReplyDeleteIt appears that I can no longer handle the stress of a tight game
ReplyDeleteBoone was hired for his ability to mimic stat-boys starting line-ups.
ReplyDeleteHas no ability to adapt to changing situations either in needing a new line up, or in changing situations within the game.
The Yankees only win despite him.
Never look back, Jazz. But thank you for scoring
ReplyDeleteBoone was a genius to bench Rice and Chisolm last night, wasn't he?
ReplyDeleteWhy, of course!
DeleteTonight they're rested@
Ugh
ReplyDeleteLast thing we need is to put the leadoff hitter on base…
ReplyDeleteDo not believe what you are seeing.
ReplyDeleteBoone is a SUUUPER GENIUS.
ReplyDeleteI think that’s the first time a pitch in that spot was called a strike. Good timing, ump!
ReplyDeleteSchlittler-time !
ReplyDeleteYankees Win!!!
ReplyDeleteI NEVER doubted the Yankees would win.
ReplyDeleteHad it all the way…
ReplyDeleteTh-uhuhuhuh Yankees ripped our guts out and won. Hooray.
ReplyDeleteThese games are killing me
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo!
ReplyDeleteWHOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!
ReplyDeleteI thought for sure that las ball was. going out
ReplyDeleteFlashback to Piazza off Mo in 2000
ReplyDeleteIt was a real uh-oh moment.
ReplyDeleteJazz and Rice showing us how stupid that dear ol Boonie is...ofc we all knew that already but I digress
ReplyDeleteI think that since MLB went to a best 2 out of 3 wild card format, all but 2 were sweeps. Today all 3 teams facing elimination won. So … go, Reds.
ReplyDeleteHeil Schlittler!
ReplyDeleteToo soon.
DeleteHey, it's been 80 years!
Deletethe agony prolonged...
ReplyDeleteWell…at least it wasn’t the Agony of Defeat
DeletePerhaps it's the Defeat of Agony?
DeleteYou’re a wide-eyed optimist, Mr. Bit.
ReplyDeleteWhitlock threw 47 pitches tonight…
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to keep an open mind...
