Theo, the Pontius Pilot, has traded Boston's Savior

Shame on the Red Socks.

They shall face damnation on Judgment Day.

As you, our sincere and dedicated readership, know, the Yankees last year signed Jesus -- Latin prospect Jesus Montero, that is -- for $1.2 million, prompting the New York anthem: "Jesus loves us, this we know, because Scott Boras tells us so."

When the good and upright Yankee, Brian Cashman, signed our Savior, the Red Sock merchants countered by shelling out $575,000 -- their biggest clot of blood money for a Latino -- for 16-year-old outfielder Engle Beltre... hoping he would become their Anti-Christ.

Well, you know what happened. Yesterday, they betrayed him. They sold him for 30 innings of silver in the form of Eric Gagne.

Maybe some of their socks do have real blood, even if Schilling's are full of ketchup.
