Yankees Building a Complete Dead Guy

Using State-of-the-Art gizmos, the IIH, IIF, IIc medical staff has determined that the New York Yankees are on their way to building a complete dead body, if one takes the various injuries endured by the team and places them on one soon-to-be corpse.

Here's your guide, including only injuries that landed a player on the DL:

4/30/08: Phil Hughes Strained right oblique. (Red); Alex Rodriguez. Strain of his right quadriceps. (Blue)

4/28/08: Jorge Posada. Shoulder. (Black)

4/25/08: Brian Bruney. Right foot. (Green); Wilson Betemit. Pink eye. (What else?)

3/30/08: Sean Henn. Left shoulder. (Light blue)

3/29/08: Humberto Sanchez. Elbow. (Orange)

3/28/08: Jeff Karstens. Strained right groin. (Greenish blue); Andy Pettitte. Back spasms. (Yellow)

  2. I really like this dead guy idea. It is so 2008 Yankee.

It should become a regular feature. We can even " make book" on the next injury and to whom.

But should we be counting guys like Humberto? We have dozens of them living in Birmingham with Dr. Andrews.

I say, stick with the guys in uniform, and keep it going for the season.

    Brilliant.

  3. I'm counting players on the 40-man roster who make it on the Yankee injury report online.

That's why Humberto is there, and Henn, etc.

    Deal?

    By the way, Damon's next.

  4. It is a great concept no matter what.

Henn has just been " designated for assignment" i.e flipping burgers, or playing for Dunder -Mifflin's softball team.

  6. Hughes has a cracked rib. Get that on the board.
