Last night, we seemed to be coasting to victory. Mr. Sterling was preparing a dense, deep-throated win warble -- a Fourth of July, Wrath of Khan, Janis Joplinesque nuking of his vocal chords that would cap a two-game win streak.
And then -- well -- we won't bother to go into details. What came forth was a gasping, sad, Steven-Hawking-on-Nitol win warble of 4.78 seconds.
Four point seven eight seconds... barely the length of an Alphonso orgasm.
Is a win warble this short... a win warble at all?
Listen to this and decide for yourselves: Is this the win warble of a happy Voice of the Yankees, driven by Jeep?
Thanks for the compliment, Duque.
ReplyDeleteI think John must be "hurting." Maybe he blew out a rib, like Phil Hughes did last year, and he is trying to tough it out.
Can you put the warbler on the DL?
Maybe he has, in his throat, what Ian kennedy has in his middle finger.
That is: no feeling.
Maybe he needs some work in Scranton to smooth out his delivery.
John Sterling is hurting because 2009 is his 20th anniversary with the Yankees and no one has so much as said "Happy Anniversary, John Sterling."
ReplyDeleteHis own blog hasn't even mentioned it.
