Yanks in rubber match against Syracuse parent club

It's hard to root against the Mother Ship.

The Washington Nationals enjoy a unique psychic connection to Syracuse -- the famed "Emerald City" and capital of Onondaga County -- as suppliers of beef to the Syracuse Chiefs, (formerly Skychiefs,) who play at Alliance Bank Stadium, (formerly P&C Stadium.)

It seems like yesterday that Corey Patterson was tilling the soil of right field for our HUDville Nine. Now he's the toast of the Big Apple.

Let's hope he remembers where he came from.
