Make-Over For Night Out With The Washington Nationals

With She-Fan in town, I decided it would be appropriate to upgrade my appearance and image for the night.

She threw her salmon fillet at me on Tuesday night.  A venting of frustration which she clearly would not have done, were I in more formal attire.

So I made a trip to West 42nd street, got some new duds, a powdered up face, 4 shots of Jack and an apprentice hair stylist to give me a more sedate look.

None of this should deter from some commentary about the Yankees;

1.  I maintain that any major league team can bring up any pitcher they have from AA or AAA and beat this Yankee team.  If we have not seen the pitcher before, it is guaranteed he will go 7+ innings, give up no more than 4 hits and two runs.

2.  That throw-away guy from the Astros, signed by the Mets to eat innings in Buffalo, did it to us.  And last night, another no name did it to us.

3.  We are fortunate that it is again raining, otherwise my prediction of the Nats taking 2 of 3 from us would have proven correct.

4.  The Yanks will likely not have to deal with another 4+ innings, 4 earned runs,  and 106 pitches from Joba today as long as this weather holds.  And I know they are tiring of that output, because it puts right back in the face of Yankee reality that Joba should be our 8th inning set-up guy.

5.  A-Rod is just fine, right?  Hitting .219 in the fourth spot.  Protecting Tex.

 I give A-Rod credit for gutting it out.  But this is not supposed to be a developmental league.  If we have to, let's put him back on the juice.

6.  I heard that Xavier Nady is going to play 4 innings, in Florida, against the Dade County Little League all stars.  It is 45 feet from deep right field to second base, so we will great a great read on his arm progress.  And what is Jason Bay doing today?

7.  I would give our entire 2009 MLB draft class to Boston for any single randomly selected guy from theirs.  Or, a chance to throw eggs at Mel Hall.

  1. Right on the Money! You left out Wanger looking average against a 16 win team and Hughes looking lights out and only pitching two innings and being stuck in the bullpen.
