    As for swapping John for Clarence, Bruce's intro for the latter may help -

    "The Minister of Soul"

    "The Secretary of the Brotherhood"

    "The Next Senator From The State of New York"

    "Say Who? Say Who? Say Who? Say Who? (repeat several more times)"

    "The Big Man!"

    Other than perhaps Clarence, do these words describe anyone better than they do John Sterling?
